Angelic Angel | 3 comments I’ve been hearing about this new series that’s just came out and have wanted to know if it’s worth reading the books first

Reanne | 4 comments Read the books! a quick note: ignore the movies, we pretend those don't exist. Book wise I'd suggest reading the first five "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" first, you can do the Kane chronicles after or go straight to "The Heros of Olympus" after that is "Trials of Apolo" and you can follow it up with "The Magnus Chase Chronicles"!

any of the others can be read after the 'main' three series! hope this helped!

Eden (eden_was_here) Absolutely. I would read the books first, but that is coming from someone who watched the "movies" before I even read the 1st book. If you do read the series, first start with PJO (Percy Jackson and the Olympians) in this order: The Lightning Thief, The Sea of Monsters, The Titan's Curse, The Battle of the Labyrinth, and The Last Olympian. Then if you wanna do chronological order, start reading TKC (The Kane Chronicles) in the order of: The Red Pyramid, The Thrown of Fire, and The Serpents Shadow, Then read HoO (Heroes of Olympus) in this order: The Lost Hero, The Son of Neptune, The Mark of Athena, The House of Hades, and The Blood of Olympus, then you can read MCATGOA (Or shortened to MC which is Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard) in the order of: The Sword of Summer, The Hammer of Thor, and The Ship of the Dead, THEN move to ToA (Trials of Apollo) in this order: The Hidden Oracle, The Dark Prophecy, The Burning Maze, The Tyrants Tomb, and The Tower of Nero, THEN DOTD (Daughter of the Deep) which is a solo book, and finally TSATA (The Sun and the Star) which is also a solo book. (I'd like to add that The Chalice of the Gods and soon Wrath of the Triple Goddess are part of the PJO series, but to my understanding they take place after ToA, so I'd read ToA before reading both of those). There is also Rick Riordan Presents which isn't connected to the Riordanverse (The official name for all the books written by Rick Riordan), but it has the same style like Percy Jackson.

Very overwhelming at first, it does not get simpler (You will have PANTHEONS of gods memorized by the end of the entire series) Happy Reading!!

Zaii Okay, I thought I had commented here, maybe it was deleted idk. So, I wanted to reread them because I never got past the first saga and (despite telling my best friend otherwise, I think they were really good) so I found this page that lists all the books so you can read them in order. It's also color coded, so that helps a lot.

raichu (richierichh) | 25 comments if i want to read the series, should i have an understanding of greek mythology beforehand? or is it okay if i dont?

message 11: by Eden (new)

Eden (eden_was_here) Ofc!! I literally knew nothing abt it last year- It will explain thing to you while you read, If I remember correctly, in the back of the books it has a glossary of all the important ancient greece things, and all that!! By the end of the Last Olympian, you will have most of the Olympians probably memorized! It will explain to you (or show you) who each god or goddess, or like river or smt is!

message 12: by Rylie (new)

Rylie K | 2 comments Yes, you NEED to read it! (This is coming from a 12 yr old.) Percy Jackson is worth reading. The first book keeps you hooked, like, you'll never get bored. Then you'll just want the rest. If you're into Historical Fiction, or Greek Mythology definitely worth it. Your first series will be, 'Percy Jackson and the Oympains.' There are five books in that series. The next series is, 'Heroes Of Olympus.' five books as well, then, 'Trials of Apollo.' five books too. If you're in school and need help with Greek mythology, this will help you right away! There is no sex or inappropiate scenes. There are some deep kisses and romance, but on a kid-friendly level. But, two of the characters are gay, (No spoilers.) But that only comes in Heroes of Olympus.
But, let me put them in order based on how I recommend them:

-Percy Jackson and The Olympains
-Heroes Of Olympus
-Kane Chornicles
-Magnus Chase
-Trials Of Apollo
-The Chalice Of The Gods
-Wrath of the Triple Goddess
-The Sun and The Star

One of my fav series ever! Enjoy reading <3

Rylie K | 2 comments Of course not lol. I knew nothing about Greek Mythology before I started reading, now I know A LOT about it. These books are SO helpful if you don't know Greek Mythology.
