Hi staff, co-librarians and moderators,

I just worked on a request and I find out the the same author has two profiles:
- Latin alphabet: Kiryanov Oleg Vladimirovich
- Cyrillic script: Олег Кирьянов

On it doesn't say anything about that. Whar the Policies & Practices here? What should I do? Merge? Keep both? What info should I add where?

It depends.
When an author has been published in multiple languages. there is a section in the Librarian Manual page that you've linked: Authors published in multiple languages *

In this case, there seem to be no translations. All books on the Latin alphabet profile have the Cyrillic version on the cover and were imported with the Latin name. In this case merging into the Cyrillic profile is the right thing.

* When an author has been published in multiple languages, the most common English version of their name has to be the primary author on all editions, and the Cyrillic version secondary author on the Cyrillic editions.

Hi, Linde!
Being a Russian speaker, I found 5 more incorrect profiles of this author, and merged them into one. As Arenda said, this author does not have translations into other languages, so only Cyrillic profile. Some books need to be merged by superlibrarians, I'll combine them after.

I also deleted the series you created. Imprints and other unrelated collections of works (usually by multiple authors) are not series (). This is exactly the case here - different authors write about different countries. Please don't create a series if you're not sure it's a series.
