Currently reading:
Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett - for PopSugar's cozy fantasy prompt.
Upcoming/Planned:
Wordslut: A Feminist Guide to Taking Back the English Language by Amanda Montell - for Robot Librarian's Nonfiction: 400s.
Tidal Creatures by Seanan McGuire - not currently for a prompt
Mirrored Heavens by Rebecca Roanhorse - not currently for a prompt
QOTW:
For my GR challenge, I am at 117 of 150, and that's after having raised it once already.
I am currently at 38/50 prompts for PopSugar. I am at 27/52 for the Robot Librarian challenge, which is one I'm doing a little more casually.

Lemon Bird: Can Help! - I like the concept of produce-based animals, but the style of this book didn't quite do it for me. (It probably has a name, but I don't know that much about graphic novels/comics.)
The Mystery of Treefall Manor - I saw this highly recommended as a Golden-Age-style locked-room mystery, but it turned out to be a crime against punctuation. There were no commas before names used in direct address (so you'd get something like, "I think John, we should &c"). The author must have been saving them up to use for his comma splices, because he sure liked combining sentences without benefit of conjunctions. There were at least two semicolons in the book, so I know he is aware of their existence; maybe they're getting expensive? I did finish the book and didn't find the locked-room solution to be particularly clever, so overall I regret spending $3.74 for this e-book.
QOTW: I don't do challenges, although the library's summer reading program has started, so I will have to read for at least 10 hours by the end of July. I think I'll make it.

Best things I've read over the last few months have been Clockwork Boys by T. Kingfisher, The Fairy Godmother by Mercedes Lackey, and Let It Crow! Let It Crow! Let It Crow! by Donna Andrews. I've had really good luck enjoying books recommended here and at FoE, and I think it raises my expectations of liking new authors and then I'm disappointed when I don't love them as much as the recommender.
Rebecca, I have also found that the ebooks I've been downloading as part of the Stuff your Kindle things have a lot more grammar issues than printed books. I guess if you self publish you don't get an editor. I enjoyed your criticism of the commas. :)
For QOTW, I'm behind my GoodReads goal at 38 so just dropped it to 100 from 104 (reading shouldnt' be stressful). Have some long flights this month so hopefully can catch up. For Book Nerds, I start by filling all the prompts a book fits as I read what I want, and then start looking for books that fit remaining prompts. I have 80 prompts filled with my 38 books.
I'm still working on Dragonfly Falling - I'm almost finished with it, and the only reason I haven't finished yet is that stupid me left my Kindle at school over the weekend (I know I could use the app to read on my phone or my computer, but I hate reading like that).
I needed something to read in the meantime so yesterday I tore through Wishful Drinking by Carrie Fisher (sniff), which I'd randomly brought home from the library on a whim. Oh, Carrie.
QotW: I do the book nerds challenge, and I only use one prompt for each book - I've read 38 books so far this year. I could probably fill a lot more prompts if I were willing to let myself use multiple prompts for a book, but it just doesn't feel right to me to do that :) I don't really care if I fill all 100 prompts, but it's fun to see which ones I can get in. Similar to Kathy, I just read whatever I feel like reading and then see what prompt I can fit it to, and closer to the end of the year I pay a bit more attention to prompts I haven't filled yet.

And I just noticed that three of us who posted on this thread are at 38 books for the year. Weird! :)

I hope you all had a good week. It was just a normal "rut" kind of week for me.
On audiobook I finished a couple more Never Tell short stories The Ghost Writer and Jackrabbit Skin. These stories have varied wildly in quality.
I'm taking a break from those and listened to An Elderly Lady Is Up to No Good. I didn't realize that was also a short story. But it was entertaining. My audio book contains both that and the next book in the same file so I started An Elderly Lady Must Not Be Crossed .
I'm still reading The Way Back to You but I'm almost done with it. One of the major plot points just resolved. It is okay light reading.
I'm about to start a new book that will be released soon but Amazon gives one free read/month for Prime. I chose Veridian Sterling Fakes It. I downloaded it on my kindle and opened it but haven't really started yet.
Neighborhood book club met this week and the next meeting is both when I'm on vacation and an author I don't like to read so it is a good combination! I don't have to read The Women. I know so many rave about the author and her books, but no thanks.
QOTW:
Now that we’re in June how are you doing against your goals or challenges so far?
I meant to do the Book Nerds Challenge and I may still go back and apply what I've read to the categories. But I've been terrible about multiple accounting mechanisms. I mark things on GR and that is it. I keep meaning to post on the FB group or update the spreadsheet but I don't get there.
For GR I had a goal of 50 books. I'm at "42". I put that in quotes because GR counts all the short stories I've been reading so that will make it easy to reach that goal. I will have to see if I reach it with those removed and adjust next year's goal accordingly.
