I saw that the Harry Potter books are also divided by language.There are no rules in the Manual regarding this situation. The first author is Ryoko Kui (=English version), correct. The Chinese/Japan author name is the same as on the cover, correct.
It's convenient. I'd leave it as it is. You can add links to the main English profile to these profiles:
Japan language profile for [_author:Ryoko Kui|7379542] (remove "_")

She is the same author, but I see some librarian notes that say that they should not be merged to differentiate the Japanese edition from the Chinese one.
