/topic/show/...

OP provides a link to the Publisher site which shows an ISBN

Seemed straightforward, but...
On the linked Gollancz site there are 2 options to buy, one link taking me to Audible with the ASIN B004SOKKS6 which is already in the database: /book/show/2...
So I wonder if the ISBN & ASIN are for the exact same edition since the publisher links to it on Audible. If so I could add the ISBN to this edition, job done.
Or should I add a new edition with just the ISBN even though it seems to be the exact same.
I'd really appreciate the advice of another librarian with more experience than me.

Dobby (dobby0390) | 7815 comments They are different editions. The one with the ISBN available through non-Audible sites is an Audiobook format.

The one with the ASIN available through Audible and Amazon has an ASIN and is an Audible Audio format.

You'll see this with ebooks and Kindle editions in instances when the ebook is available on sites other than Amazon. The ebook uses the ISBN identifier, while the Kindle edition uses the ASIN identifier.

The one with ASIN is "Audible Audio" and it's a unique format like a Kindle.
The edition with ISBN is "Audiobook".
