Hello everyone,
Please read on for our Fall and Winter list. I hope to have pulled together a group of reads with a little something for everyone; an eclectic list made a Collection by the fact that they have been waiting for me for a long time :)
September: Harlem Shuffle, by Colson Whitehead ŷ Nominee for Best Mystery & Thriller in 2021, written by a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning author.
October: Lock Every Door, by Riley Sager Having read Sager before, I'm hoping this will be a Halloween equivalent of a beach read - a creepy, fun page-turner for spooky season.
October: Murder for Halloween: Tales of Suspense, by Michelle Slung A compilation of creepy crime, this is a bonus read for Halloween.
November: Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy by John le Carré A renown and beloved spy novel—not my go-to subgenre, so looking forward to something a little different.
December: Bad Axe County, by John Galligan An award-winner in 2019, this one was written and takes place in my home state of Wisconsin.
January: Norwegian by Night, by Derek B. Miller Sticking with the cold-weather theme, let's visit Oslo this January. I've heard great things about this book.
February: Hell's Princess, by Harold Schechter In the spirit of Valentine's Day, let's learn more about Belle Gunness, who took her romances in a dark direction.

I'll add this one into the mix for October. A collection of short crime stories with a Halloween theme.

Finally got my copy from the library.
i cant find a copy of Murder for Halloween so will skip that one for October.
For our Fall and Winter reads, I'm pulling together a group of crime/mystery/thrillers that have this connective tissue - they've been on my shelf for far too long. So, it will be a bit of a random grouping, with the (hopefully) common thread of being scrumptious reads that will accompany us into the cooling weather. Stay tuned for the list, I'll have it up sometime next week.
