We are tackling an A-Z challenge!
How It Work..."
Oh, this is fun, thank you for creating this new challenge, Emily. I think I'll probably go for the short challenge (13 letters) this time around.
Is it safe to assume that books we're reading towards the annual 52 books challenge can count here, as long as they're read between September 1 and November 30?
Yes, absolutely you can use the same books for seasonal challenges and your regular 52 book challenge. Also for Readathons - watch for an announcement on this for September!

I'd personally probably limit it to the genres shown on the main page for the book (so the top 3-5), but whatever you think is fine. No rules around what counts during this challenge!
I can't remember what the rule on Graphic Novels is. Do they need to have a minimum beyond just 100pg?
Up to you! If it were for a read-a-thon or had a prize attached to it like the summer challenge, we would have a requirement of 200 pages, but for a challenge that is informal like this one, you're free to use it as you see fit!

Yes, there will definitely be one each season. They vary in structure, some have more of a scavenger hunt aspect.

We are tackling an A-Z challenge!
How It Works
For this challenge, you will be trying to fulfill the letters in ONE of three phrases:
- PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE (17)
- FAMILY GATHERING (15)
- HOT APPLE CIDER (13)
You can fulfill these letters by using the first letter of the title, the first letter of the author's first or last name, or the first letter of the main genre of the book.
Example:
- H: Happy Place by Emily Henry (Title)
- O: Masters of Death by Olivie Blake (Author's First Name)
- T: The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas (Author's Last Name)
- T: Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn (Genre: Thriller)
How to join the challenge
1. You can create a post on this thread to track your progress.
2. You can also check out the Community Spreadsheet:
3. If you need ideas or inspiration for any of the prompts, or you’d like to share recommendations then you can do so here.
4. When you’ve completed all of the letters for one phrase, post the details in this thread.
What books can be counted?
Generally books should be 100 pages or more, but if you’ve found the perfect book and it’s 90 pages then it’s your choice whether to count it. Or, if you’re really stuck on one task and you want to read a picture book or short story just to mark it as complete then go right ahead. The aim is to have fun and enjoy what you read, so nobody is going to judge anyone else for their book choices.
If you have any questions about the challenge then you can post them in this thread. The FAQs in post two below will also be updated as people ask questions so you might find your question has been answered there.
Happy reading, and we hope you enjoy the challenge!
