Reading Allen Eskens' Joe Talbert books, The Stolen Hours will be next up for me someday soon. At B'con I grabbed an arc of his The Quiet Librarian, coming in 2025. Haven't started it yet.

Books mentioned in this topic
The Stolen Hours (other topics)The Quiet Librarian (other topics)
A very Deaver book, with brilliant and driven villains and heroes fighting uncertain battles. Of course, there are unexpected twists as well. The alliance on both sides is to hackers, police with a super hacker, a killer with a super hacker. (A-)
City of Secrets: PJ Tracy
The day may never come where I don;t compare these books to the start of PJ Tracy when it was mother/daughter. The series changed when the mother passed, it lost some spark and humor. I’m happy to say that the spark was again in evidence in this complex murder mystery. (A-)
Don’t Lose Her: Jonathan King
Florida PI goes in search of his employer’s wife, a federal judge who has been kidnapped for reasons uncertain. (B+)
Summit Lake: Charlie Donlea
Reporter investigates a brutal rape and murder, one that hit particularly close to home for her. Builds nicely, but some of the ‘twists at the end fell flat for me. (B)
Shadow State: Clancy
Jack jr heads to Asia as an accountant, but winds up being a spy again. Dangerous world. (B)
Deeper than Dead: Debra Webb
An unexpected shooting leaves a Police Chief disgraced, even if it was not her fault. She returns to her homestead and is embroiled in murder and deceit. (B)
Behind Her Lies: Molly Black
Home therapist finds the family she is analyzing has deep dark, dangerous secrets (B)
Shadow of Doubt: Brad Thor
Superspy Scott Harvath working to solve a massive problem with moles and traitor. He solves it mostly by killing them. (B)
Poppin a Cold One: Rick Koster
Local author makes good. At his talk on Gris Gris Gumbo, he mentioned an earlier book and this was it. Poppin a cold one refers to sex with a corpse. I won;t say any more. (B)
The Stolen Hours: Allen Eskens
Struggle as police and prosecutors know they have the criminal, but cannot prove it. (B)
