We turned in our ballots at the dropbox this week, so we can now (try to) ignore all the political ads. Hooray!
I've also been playing the latest RPG video game from Atlus, called Metaphor Re:fantasio. It is SO good. I'm completely hooked.
Finished:
The Wedding Witch by Erin Sterling - 3 stars - no prompt. WItches plus Yule. It was OK for what it was, but kind of a deus ex machina solution to all the problems. Still mostly enjoyed it.
The City in Glass by Nghi Vo - 4 stars - no prompt. Beautifully written little story about a demon who loves a city.
Comics/manga:
Toilet-bound Hanako-kun, Vol. 20
Akane-banashi, Vol. 8
Komi Can't Communicate, Vol. 31
Currently reading:
Humble Pi: When Math Goes Wrong in the Real World by Matt Parker - for Robot Librarian's Nonfiction: The 500s
Upcoming/Planned:
Magic for Nothing by Seanan McGuire - for Robot Librarian's book that takes place at an amusement park, theme park, fair, or carnival. I'm finally past where I read previously in this series. Hoping to catch up next year.
Ella Minnow Pea: A Novel in Letters by Mark Dunn - for Robot Librarian's book mentioned in a film, TV show, or streamed series. Apparently this was mentioned on Gilmore Girls, I guess, which I've never seen. I found a whole list of books mentioned on that show. Alternately, it would also work for book of letters and/or written in epistolary format.
QOTW:
On rainy days, I definitely stay in unless I absolutely need to go somewhere. It's a good day to read or watch TV or play video games.

Killer Dolphin - For whatever reason, the library doesn't have Dead Water, so we've skipped ahead in the Ngaio Marsh books. This was another one set in the theater, which everyone agrees is her best subject. I did enjoy the sort of wish-fulfillment fantasy of the renovation of the old theater and the discovery of a Shakespearian relic.
QOTW: I would probably stay inside in all but the loveliest weather, but my husband is pretty good about making me take walks when it's cold or wet. I did get some sparkly rainbow rain boots, which are somewhat motivating. If it's raining hard or for a long time, sometimes it's helpful to play a video game with a sunny outdoor setting.

Sorry the post is late this week. It has been a crazy week of travel for both my husband and me (in separate directions). And it continues next week as we have to go back to my 95 YO mother's place (450 miles away) to help her move into an apartment with more services, meals, etc. Although it is independent living it has all the things (except medical).
I have a lot of finishes, many short stories. I finished North Woods. I liked this book. I loved the Massachusetts connections and the visual scenery. I also liked connecting with my 2 daughters over it too.
I finished Full Speed to a Crash Landing. This was novella length and it was enjoyable. It didn't really wrap up and standalone as nicely as I'd like. But it was fast and fun.
I am also reading When We Were Widows: A Novel on my Kindle. I went back to that after finishing the others.
At the moment I'm listening to a free Amazon short story The Tasting Menu: A Short Story. It is a longer short story, about 3 hours.
I was away on a business trip to NYC this week and had a lot of travel and walking time. I listened to all the books in one of the Amazon short story collections, Currency. They were all just okay. Most about an hour long. They were: The Summer House, Crewelwork, The Tomorrow Box, Me and Carlos, If You are Lonely And You Know It, I Would Be Doing This Anyway
QOTW:
What do you like to do on a rainy day?
Thankfully full rainy days are pretty rare here. I need daily outdoor walking time for my mental health. I also love to cook on rainy days, especially my husband and I love soup. We're happy it is soup season now. Of course snuggling up and reading. And I also always have a jigsaw puzzle going on my dining room table.
