Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - SPOILER-FREE

Roald Dahl was one of my favorite authors as a kid but I never read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory until now. Based on the movie adaptations, I pretty much knew what to expect but I still enjoyed it a lot. I was also surprised that the Johnny Depp adaptation seemed a lot more accurate to the book. I thought it would be the other way around. Either way, it was fun to revisit one of Dahl's worlds.

Those are some really old grandparents. Charlie is supposed to be 8 or so, and his grandfather is 96? That means Joe was mid 40s when he had Charlie's dad, and Charlie's dad was mid 40s when Charlie was born (on average. On both sides of the family, because all of the old people were over 90. It's not impossible, just improbable.
