Is it okay if I recommend myself?
I couldn't hold back myself from commenting under your post because I love Middle grade novels mixed with Fantasy. I have read a lot of them even when I wasn't doing Developmental editing.
I would love to pitch myself here because. Would love to hear what you think!

I know you said that you wanted recommendations but I hope you won't mind if I recommend myself as a DEVELOPMENTAL EDITOR
I love Fantasy and Middle grade, I have a special place for both these genres in my heart. They are always so enjoyable. I think we would be a great fit. Here is my contact detail and website:
[email protected]

I usually offer one pass of developmental editing, one pass of copy editing, and one final pass proofreading with the option for you to accept or reject the changes after each pass and help (technical over-the-phone support) uploading to Amazon/KDP, if you need it for one price based on word count ($250 in your case). The other things you need would be additional.
I can finish your project in one week or less depending on how quickly you return each phase to me.
Feel free to contact me through Guru (which would require an account setup--but you can also find other freelancers on there) or PM me here.

Hi S.,
I just published my debut novel, a middle grade coming of age story. Over the past two years and through lots of revisions (my fault, not the professionals I hired) I ended up with a pretty good team. All were hired through Reedsy after lots of background research and comparisons to other professionals (price, experience, etc.) I have no connection to Reedsy or to any of these professionals except as a previous client. I would use each again.
Sarah Lahay (nee Beaudin) did my interior design and my cover. If you'd like to see the cover, my book's title is "Hitter & Blue", and it can be found on Amazon.
Lana B. (for Barnes) did the proofreading.
Avner L. (for Landes) did my developmental editing. He also does copy editing.
As I said, I had great luck with all three of the above-named people and was especially impressed with their patience with a new writer.
Best of luck,
Dave Schulze
