Your turn.

So basically over my long reading life, I have spend long periods addicted to particular genres and reading everything specific authors put out. Now, though, I tend to read specific genres for periods of time then move to others.

I've wandered between genres over my life as well, but my 2 favorites have been Sci - Fi / Fantasy and mystery. I like your list.

I am working on L. Frank Baum Oz series and everything by Agatha Christie.
I've already read everything by William Shakespeare, Jane Austen, and Sharon Kay Penman.
I have a lot of other authors I'd like to focus on also, maybe I should make a full list of them. :-)

I read the L Frank Baum Oz series with a buddy and I think it took us over 2 years to read them all. What a great series that is.
I would also love to read all of the Agatha Christie novels, too.

- Virginia's Woolf's fiction and essays. I don't think I will read all of her published diaries. For the past year, I have been reading one of her diaries. I find it interesting, but very time-consuming. I also have a few biographies about her life that I want to read.
- Margaret Atwood - fiction, short stories, poetry, essays. I don't know how many I haven't read yet, but she has written a lot of things in her lifetime.
- Barbara Kingsolver - fiction, poetry, essays. I am close to completing her collection of works.
- Ann Patchett - fiction, essays - I think there are 6 or seven books I haven't read.
- Toni Morrison - fiction and essays
I would love to read all of Ursula Le Guin's writing and all of Alice Walker's writing, but my list is getting out of control.

Your list is very interesting, Karen. You're quite right about Atwood, she's so prolific. I've read two of Woolf's books; I may have to try more. Thanks for responding.

Hi Bill! I hope you do check both authors out. I think you would like them a lot. My first Jonathan Coe book was Expo 58, which I loved. It's not one of his most popular books, though. The 2nd book I read was The Winshaw Legacy or What a Carve Up! (the original title) which is on my favorites list. It's a little bit of everything - politics, humor, historical fiction, with a big mystery! He also has a series The Rotters' Club - I highly recommend the first book! I've found that Coe's books are not as easy to find here in NM (maybe in the US, in general). I think he is more popular in the UK.

So, here is my question. As I've been looking through my books and my reading challenges, there have been a few authors that I've kind of thought, 'it sure would be nice to read all of their books before I leave this earthly plane', my bucket list of books.
Have any of you ever thought that? Well, anyway, below are some authors I hope to read all of... at least all of one particular series in some cases and others, as many of their works as possible. I'd be interested if you have any such authors...
