Team Hidden in Plain Sight - Chat!

How to play:
Just like the word search challenge, each team will be given the same Strands to start off with and then receive different ones after finishing. The only difference is how you can "find" these words. Please see below on how you, and the team, can read for these words.
Option 1: You can find the word in text. Please provide the location (page or %) and quote.
Option 2: You can use the letters in the title, series title, and/or author's name (first, middle, and/or last). If your book has multiple authors, you can use any letter combination.
Option 3: Using any object(s) on the cover.
Option 4: Using the color of the cover (Must be 50%)
The options to find these will depend on the theme and the words. You can also use any combination if your Strands game has two-word answers. For example, Green Apple: You could use a book with a green cover and 'Apple' in text. One book per answer.
Thanks for the reminder Trisha!
Anyone sneek a peek at our board and find any of the 6 words?
I can't remember, are we supposed to use every letter in the board, or will some be left over?

I haven't looked at the board yet, but I think every letter on it has to be used

Those look right to me, I put them in the "answers" section so people can see what words we're working with on the spreadsheet too.

1. ballad of songbirds and snakes by suzanne collins
2. people we meet on vacation by emily henry (fits ROMANCE)
3. heartless hunter by kristen ciccarelli
4. beartown by fredrik backman
5. things we never got over by lucy score (fits WESTERN)
6. thursday murder club by richard osman (fits CRIME)

I have a fantasy one I'm reading that will work for that word if no one else is reading anything for that.

For strategy, do we want to post as we finish or do we want to put all in banked before posting reviews in case we struggle to find a book that fits?

Romance - Ela
Western - Esther
Fiction genre - Trisha?
Crime - Kim
Fantasy - Jamie
Historical

My vote is post as we finish!

I'd rather keep moving than someone waiting for me!

i can read for that 😋

i love playing. i think that's how i found these answers so quickly haha

that would just leave Historical - which I think a few people might have a book for today.
That way, we'll always have new strands going, and an opportunity for anyone finishing a book to grab a spot. I hope most books will cover a few options for strands and no one will fill limited or unable to meet one because we'll have new ones pretty often. . .

I forgot to take mine out of banked, I removed it. As for Ela's romance, I think we decided to post after she put that in the banked tab. I can post it for her and that way, like you said Trisha, we can keep moving towards the next puzzle!

My seasonal fun job that I got is winding down so I'm trying to race through books before I have to start looking for a real job again! lol

Ps nice job Trisha!

There was an issue on the Banked tab with the formula for the Team Member column, I wasn't able to add my name. I think I fixed it so we shouldn't have any issue adding our names now.
It seems we have everything covered for this round so I'll leave it in banked for the next one! Looking good so far!
Trisha, thanks for the rundown of the game. I'm newer to challenges so this was super helpful!

I’m new to challenges here so I’d like to ask if I understood this right and I have some questions, I hope somebody can respond to:
We already set an individual goal for the amount of books we want to read this month. I’ve set a goal for 5/6 books, although I think I will read more because I already finished 3, do I write it down somewhere?
The strands-game is like a crossword puzzle and we have to find the words of the puzzle in/on our books (in the text, title, author’s name, cover (color or object))? I never even heard of strands so that’s new to me. Sorry
Do we get new words everyday? Or are there words for the whole month?
If for example we’ve got the words: train and the book I’m reading has a train on the cover what do I do with that information? Is there a spreadsheet or do I write it in the group chat?
Sorry for asking that many questions and
Thank you:)
