Picture book with detailed color illustrations and only a line or two of text on each page. We owned it in the 90's or early 2000's.
The text included lines similar to:
I gave dad a picture that I drew and he gave me a ride home on his shoulders. I gave the baby a piece of my apple, we ate it sitting under the table. He gave me a soggy bread crust, that wasn't much of a present.
