Plot: Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders.
But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile humans. They incinerate them. With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success. The rest would kill her just for being her mother’s daughter—like Xaden Riorson, the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant.
She’ll need every edge her wits can give her just to see the next sunrise. Yet, with every day that passes, the war outside grows more deadly, the kingdom's protective wards are failing, and the death toll continues to rise. Even worse, Violet begins to suspect leadership is hiding a terrible secret. Friends, enemies, lovers. Everyone at Basgiath War College has an agenda—because once you enter, there are only two ways out: graduate or die
How it fits: In this book, the cadets learn how to fly on their dragons and they go on long flights.

Plot: This is prequel to the famous Hunger games and dwelves into Haymitch's story when he participates in the Quarter Quell. From a district which has no odds of winning to a survivor, the book etches out his journey. It also dwelves into his personal life and how one thing led to another that shaped the sad Haymitch we see in the series.
How it fitS: Haymitch made history for D12 by winning the Quarter Quell. For most of the part he was a solo journey which helped him get sponsors but never one who stopped to help others. It shows how he overcame his own fears for the greater strike to hunger games

Plot: Don Tillman is a brilliant but socially awkward genetics professor who approaches life—and love—with the precision of a scientific experiment. Convinced he’s not wired for romance in the traditional sense, Don embarks on “The Wife Project, a carefully designed questionnaire to find the perfect partner. What he doesn’t expect is Rosie, spontaneous, unpredictable, and everything his logic tells him to avoid.
Don’s journey is not just about finding love but about stepping outside the safety of his routines and embracing the unpredictable nature of human connection.
How it fits: Just as Lindbergh ventured into the skies alone, guided only by instruments and instinct, Don sets off into unfamiliar emotional territory—navigating relationships, vulnerability, and ultimately, transformation. Both stories remind us that sometimes, the most extraordinary journeys begin when we take a leap into the unknown.

This May, we soar back in time to honor the bold spirit of Charles Lindbergh, who made history in May 1927 with the first solo nonstop flight from New York to Paris. Over 33 hours alone in the cockpit of The Spirit of St. Louis, Lindbergh captured the world’s imagination and opened the door to modern air travel.
Whether you choose a biography, a novel that flies high on courage, or a story of solitary journeys and innovation, let’s celebrate the fearless leap into the unknown.
