omg what a good start. I'm hooked

(view spoiler)[ wow, it's hard to know now what's really going on. Did the dad do it? I'm going to assume he didn't because all the evidence points there so far - the bloody shirt, burning it, talking about the knife.

but does it mean that someone else was attacking them and Danny protected him? that maybe his sister was killed first?
but who would he cover for? I can't imagine it was his girlfriend (later wife and her mom) - someone her dad says was his only friend

so would it have been someone after Danny? or his sister?

and it sounds like maybe there was a window in the backdoor that allowed anyone who knew about it to get in?

and wow! So do we suspect the teacher? or how is the teacher involved - especially since he gave an alibi. Did they blackmail him into giving an alibi

and she had a good point - why would her mom marry her dad when she seemed like she wanted out of the town, to do something. why did she stay with him? was it the trauma response, like the dad said, or did something bigger tie them together. why would Vincent be scared the mom would find out he's writing about it?

I find the teacher's story the most. . .unbelievable. but we don't have anything else to prove otherwise

and OMG THERE IS ONE MORE VIDEO!! WHERE IS IT! and it has sound. Does her dad have it? Has he been leading her the whole time with these stories? has he been leading her with clues?

I figured it centered around Danny and I'm so sad for what he'd been through. He took his hurt from what his teacher did and he turned it on Lydia and Poppy - neither one deserved that.

but wow, for it to have been the teacher - and then her own mom. I never saw that final twist coming. When her dad said "okay, now let me tell you what really happened" my jaw dropped!

those home videos really were the the final pieces and I loved how the author described them again and again and brought them into the story.
