Hey guys and gals.

Anyone out there hunting for the B&N Nook this holiday season, and coming up empty handed? If so, write a brief summary of your trials and tribulations here....

Sherrie (syellico) When I went to my local B&N to check it out, they had one sample Nook for people to try out. As far as ordering one, they had a sign that said it could be ordered for delivery in January, but the clerk told me that they hadn't changed their sign yet and that it would not be available until February.

Suzanne (bellamy22) | 610 comments Lori, Which of these devices do you think is the 'best'??? Kindle,Nook, etc...

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Sherrie, my B&N was the same.

I'm not looking to buy one yet, but I have to say that I think that the nook is the best one out there at the moment.

It has the most options that I can tell. Wireless direct download from B&N (if you want to buy the book directly) the same as Kindle with Amazon. But the nook also supports .pdf and eReader files, which Kindle is lacking. (Here's a good comparison page: )

Even so, I will wait for nook 2.0. Hopefully they will increase the response time so that turning the page, or opening a menu doesn't take forever.

Sherrie (syellico) I think waiting for the nook 2.0 is a great idea. Hopefully it won't be too long - I am itching to get one soon! I have a friend who swears by her kindle, but I don't know that she's really looked at the comparison. When I compared, I felt like the Nook was the best out right now as well...

Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) I'm with you Becky. I think the Nook is the most flexible so far, and even works with my library's e-book system. I, too, though am waiting for the second version so that the bugs are worked out.

$100 bucks back if B&N doesnt ship out the preordered Nooks for a Xmas eve delivery. Not to shabby!
