I just finished We've Got Issues: Children and Parents in the Age of Medication for this task. I originally started reading this because I thought the author had the same views I did on the misuse/overuse of medications for mental illness that I have. The author explains in the first or second chapter that she initially had the same view but changed through the course of her research and the book morphed into something completely different. The book did not change my views on the subject.

25.8 My Life in France by Julia Child and Carney's House Party: A Deep Valley Book By Maud Hart Lovelace for 25 points, the love/hate cover challenge.
I loved My Life in France, whose cover I adored, better of the two. (Although Carney's House Party was very sweet as well... sans its cringe-worthy cover.)

15.4: Wintergirls
25.8.1: The Dark Divine --> I liked The Secret Year better, which also happened to be the book whose cover I liked.

Though I liked both books, I must say that "In Defense of Food" (the cover that I liked) is the book that was a better read, in my opinion (this surprised me, as I'm not a big non-fiction reader by any means). I definitely recommend it. It really gets you thinking about nutrition(ism) and about how much we rely upon nutrition 'authority figures' to tell us what we should be eating.
