Glad one of us is winning! Congratulations!

Congrats Linda and Deb (those were all three books for which I also entered)!
There was more I wanted to say on this topic, but despite numerous attempts and my alleged gift for words, it kept turning into an extremely negative post (and I don't want to inadvertantly hurt anyone here due to my pissy mood caused by stuff unrelated to this site), so will keep it to this: still have not won anything since early April.

I won my first book a couple of years ago. When I got it wasn't the type of book I thought it would be so I gave it to my niece. Someone had said if you posted reviews you were more likely to win, so I asked my niece if she ever read it and what she thought of it. I finally posted a review for it and I won a book a week or so later....after almost 2 years with no wins.

I really hope it's not a question of liking me or not but I'm beginning to have imaginary conversations in my head about this.

Congrats on your win, Emily! Although they say reviewing the books you win will aid in helping you win more, I have my doubts. I won two books in one week last April. I read and posted a review/rating on both as soon as I received them, and have yet to win anything since. I only won the two books this year, five or six the year before. There are some people in this discussion who have won a lot more. I know there was at least one group member who seemed to win a book a day for at least a month earlier this year.

PS--Just reviewed Before Versailles which I won in May, received in July, started in August and JUST finished. LOL

Sad, because there have been some terrific books up.

What book did you win?"
A book about the history of the VW. Haven't gotten it yet. This is the second history book I have won. I don't seem to win any other genre, but that is okay since history of one of my passions.

i won three books in a row!!!!
these three
but one turned out smutty and since i can't read books with smut it it, i had to throw it out. it's the almond tree.

Congrats on your wins, Ginny. I have not won anything in almost two years now. We had quite a streak going in this group, then we suddenly seemed to be cut off. I hope you donated the book you did not like, rather than throw it out. Some people like the smut!

Books should NEVER be thrown away! I hope you gave it away.

Karen, I stopped entering for a while, too, and have done so only sporadically for the past year. Still no luck.

no Ginny did not donate it, maybe she should have.

No, you just post a regular review like you'd do with any other book you've read. It is fun to win!
Congratulations Terri, Sandie and Rebecca. Enjoy your winnings!
I just noticed Ginny's posts now say [deleted user]. I hope she didn't leave the group or GR because people suggested she donate a book that wasn't to her liking rather than throw it away. :-|

Any lucky winners lately? I haven't won a GR giveaway in more than two years now, but did recently win a book for my youngest niece from one a cozy author's blog contest (thanks, Kathleen!).

Heather L keep on entering. I also had a two year dry spell which has now broken. Amazingly I have won 7 books recently including a cozy mystery How to Murder a Millionaire. I've never won a cozy before.
Karen M: Interesting that our luck turned about the same time, isn't it? I remember that you had just won a bunch, and I had won two in one day. I have been entering again lately, a mix of mysteries, romance and general fiction.
Melodie: Looks like they turned against the three of us at the same time, LOL. Here's hoping our luck turns as Karen's has!
