Hey that would mean you are our Sagittarius! We were missing one! :) Now the entire zodiac is represented in our group."
Actually, I'm a Capricorn... Sorry! At least I've always been a Capricorn... now I'm confused.

We will have a huge dance party, lasting all night, and in the morning we'll write our own romance novel out of the events that happen.

Welcome Rebecca! Glad Misfit talked you into popping in :)

Why did you decide to join this group?: Because I need to feel connected to people who don't think that BRs and other romance novels are trash!!!

My Birthday: December 23
Last night for dinner I had a cheeseburger.
I admit it. I am truly a novice when it comes to these types of books. My mom has always had romance novels kind of lying around the house. When I was young I would sometimes just pick one of and open up to a random page and read a bit of it! I decided to join this group because I need a bit of help picking one to read.
Alaina wrote: "Hello, my name is Alaina! I am being serious. My mom loved "Ashes in the Wind" so much that she named me after the main character."
That's hilarious! I love hearing about people being named like that. One I remember was on a college admissions form - the girl's name was Bacardi Lite and she was a New Year's Eve baby. The mood must have been really festive in that delivery room. :D

Welcome to the group Alaina! I hope you find some great recommendations here!

It was good :) My sister and I actually went there to run our first marathon! We ran the ET Full Moon Midnight Marathon that runs along area 51 and ends in Rachel Nevada on Saturday night/Sunday morning. It was great and a really fun trip! But not alot of drinking or gambling or walking the strip, trying to keep our legs fresh before and too sore and in need of sleep after! :) I will get some picture up in the next couple of days!

It was a blast! I posted a few pictures from our trip and from the race if anyone wants to check them out.
Hello All,
Birthdate is 9-12-77. I love paranormal romances and recently discovered I enjoy BR romances.
My first BR romance was The Conqueror by Brenda Joyce and loved it!
I ate a Zaxby's Blackened Chicken Salad for dinner last night.
I listen to a variety of music so I do not have any CD's in my car. I just flip through the radio stations.
I like to read in my bed.
I don't have a favorite couple right now but I loved Heather and Brandon from the Flame and Flower.
I am so happy I found this group. Usually when you find and join historical romance forums many of the members trash BR romances. I feel like I can be myself here.

Just found this group! I love romances novels, they're pretty much the only thing I read. But I've found many romance books today just don't make me fall in love like those earlier authors; Julie Garwood, Johanna Lindsey and Judith McNaught were my favorites. The emotion in those books was just amazing. I'd stay up all night to read them.

Take a look at my latest book.
It's called 'The Fan Tan Players' by Julian Lees
I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Thanks, Mike! My personal Livejournal (and any diary I've ever kept since childhood) has never survived. I have more interest in the books I read than my humdrum RL. LOL

What did you have for dinner last night?: Veggie stir-fry
What CD/radio station(type of music) is in your car right now?: Dead Weather's Sea of Cowards album
When/where do you most like to read?: in bed
First romance novel read (that you can remember): The one that got me (and about 20 other high school girls who became the Romance Reading Group) was Judith McNaught's ALMOST HEAVEN.
Why did you decide to join this group?: We had so much fun with the discussion and trading back in the day, so I thought it would be fun to get to chat it up again :) YAY!

Birthday: 2/12/93
For diner last night: Chicken thighs, baked potatoes and peas.
The cd in my car: no cd, hook up for ipod with a ton of music in different styles
Best childhood memory:trips to main with my family and camping
Were do I like to read best: in bed but the couch is sometimes more comfortable
First romance that I read: I don't really remember, I think it was a long time ago.
I joined this group because I've always loved BR and I didn't know anyone who wouldn't think I was weird for my somewhat obsession. I may be young but I enjoy BR nonetheless. Though my mother calls it schmuck, I call it AWESOME!
thanks for the welcome! I'm going to go over your lists because I haven't read a romance I adored in a long while. I'm going to have to go back to the oldies.
I definitely remember my first romance, it was Guardian Angel by Julie Garwood. stayed up all night to read it. I almost flunked out of my first semester in college because I was too busy reading romances. lol

Birthday: December 29
What did you have for dinner last night?: Pizza
What CD/radio station(type of music) is in your car right now?: top 40/alt rock
Favorite childhood memory (briefly): Can't think of one right now ...tired mommy-brain doesn't go back that far.
When/where do you most like to read?: Anywhere I can. Unfortunately, its usually in the bathroom. NO JOKE! With two young kids, its the only time I can get a few minutes of quiet privacy. Sorry if that's a little too personal :)
First romance novel read: A Kiss For the King - Barbara Cartland. A very sweet little romance... My first hot romance was Gentle Rogue - Johanna Lindsey. That book got me hooked bad!
Favorite romance couple: Sofie O'Neil & Edward Delanza in After Innocence - Brenda Joyce.
Why did you decide to join this group? After more than a decade of being a fervid historical romance reader, I have recently been devoting myself to becoming a historical romance writer. Unfortunately, my writing time has taken away from my reading and I thought this would be a great place to reconnect with the great books that started this compelling obsession!

Thanks for having this group, I've always wanted people to talk to about my...weird book choices. lol.

Birthday: May 3,1986
What did you have for dinner last night?: Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, broccoli and cheese sauce
What CD/radio station(type of music) is in your car right now?: mixed cd with my favorite songs
Favorite childhood memory (briefly): summer with my grandparents :)
When/where do you most like to read?: Anytime and anywhere!
First romance novel read: Sunset Embrace by Sandra Brown
Favorite romance couple: Royal and Lily in Kat Martin's Royal's Bride!
Why did you decide to join this group? Well i love these kinds of books and i honestly thought something must be wrong with me but it's great to know i'm not the only one with this guilty pleasure.lol!!! My husband will tease me if he sees some of my books with the erotic(as he calls it) book covers!ha..

Hello Jennifer - would you classify Kat Martin as a BR author? I have almost picked up a few of her books on many occasions."
I wouldn't say its a complete BR book but in a most of her books there is some extreme love scenes. I really love Kat Martin and her writing!! I'd definately suggest her books! :)

What did you have for dinner last night?: Orange Chicken
What CD/radio station(type of music) is in your car right now?: none (don't have a car) but my IPod is very eclectic with lots from almost all genres
Favorite childhood memory (briefly): playing in my backyard
When/where do you most like to read?: whenever and wherever I can
First romance novel read (that you can remember): Highland Barbarian by Ruth Langan
Favorite romance couple: James and George Mallory (by Johanna Lindsey)
Why did you decide to join this group?: I love reading romances sometimes

Birthday: March 28, a few years ago :P.
What did you have for dinner last night?: Pancakes. I live with my folks and Heidi (my Yorkie) and our cats. Dad likes to do the cooking, and his pancakes are really good.
What CD/radio station(type of music) is in your car right now?: I usually listen to stations playing 70s-current pop, rock, and classical. If it's at night, from 7-11 or so, I have Delilah on, she does love songs and advice. That's usually when I'm on my way home from Choral Society. Not long ago, I got the electrical jack fixed that my stereo plugs into here at home, and haven't gone back to listening a lot to my CDs and the radio, yet.
Favorite childhood memory (briefly):
Don't really have a favorite right now. My childhood was pretty good.
When/where do you most like to read?:
I most like to read at night, stretched across my bed. If it's a good book, anytime and place is a good time and place - except while driving, of course :D. Does procrastinating when I'm supposed to be cleaning/organizing count?
First romance novel read (that you can remember): Mom reads them like candy and I usually read them before or after she does, or snitch the book when she's put it down. I don't remember my first one.
Favorite romance couple:
I have one that I read every now and then, a Regency, I believe (it's at the other house, where we're moving to eventually - long story). A romance/mystery combination. The hero's name is Chance, the heroine is Bradabrant (Brad for short). I'll have to check the spelling and find the title next time I'm over there. I usually prefer more current books, but for some reason, this one just clicks.
Why did you decide to join this group?: Sometimes I get hungry for a real “bodice ripper :). I used to have plenty of options to look for the books, but, sadly, most of the bookstores I used have closed. I run across this problem with other reading groups - I hope I can find the books as we read them.

Birthday: 10/06/1983
What did you have for dinner last night?: chicken fajita nachos
What CD/radio station(type of music) is in your car right now?: station is on country but I'm an audiobook junkie!
Favorite childhood memory (briefly): playing in my dads shop with my sister (he was a diesel mechanic with his own shop behind our house.)
When/where do you most like to read?: all the time in every spare moment, but always in bed at night.
First romance novel read (that you can remember): Some Harliquin, Cowboy somethink, the girl goes on a trip to a dude ranch, gets mistaken for the single dad's new maid and they eventually fall in love.
Favorite romance couple: hmm, ultimately Jamie and Claire, but there are so many close second.
Why did you decide to join this group: Because I love to read and this group seemed right up my ally!

Birthday: 2/27/1988
What did you have for dinner last night?: hmm...chips and salsa and string cheese (stinkin' college diet)
What CD/radio station(type of music) is in your car right now?: I hate the radio, so I always have my iPod on. Country, rock, rap, really pop-y pop, show tunes, folk...I love it all!
Favorite childhood memory (briefly): Running wild on my grandparent's farm.
When/where do you most like to read?: Nothing is better than being propped up in my bed ALL afternoon with a good book.
First romance novel read (that you can remember): Oh goodness, I remember that it was by Kat Martin, but I don't remember the title off the top of my head.
Favorite romance couple: Kate Sheffield and Anthony Bridgerton (The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn). I loooove the troublemakers!
Why did you decide to join this group?: Why wouldn't I join this group? Info and discussions about my favorite kinds of books? I'm in 100 percent!
