July 7th is Tell The Truth Day - In honor of this event read a book of non-fiction written by an author who also writes fiction (EXAMPLE: The Murder of King Tut).

If you need suggestions OR have suggestions for books to read for this task post them here.

Manday | 307 comments Is philosophy non-fiction? I was thinking of using The Rebel: An Essay on Man in Revolt, but I did not know if it would count.

message 6: by Deedee (new)

Deedee | 2330 comments Here's a suggestion for others:
John Lanchester writes primarily fiction (see: The Debt to Pleasure: A Novel ); he also wrote the non-fiction book I.O.U.: Why Everyone Owes Everyone and No One Can Pay . (I've already read I.O.U.: Why Everyone Owes Everyone and No One Can Pay which is Lanchester's only non-fiction book, so I have to keep looking for an author.)

Alison Weir also writes both fiction and non-fiction centered on medieval England.

Janice | 710 comments I highly recommend:
Travels with Charley: In Search of America
by John Steinbeck
My favorite road trip book.

Permanent Midnight: A Memoir by Jerry Stahl
My favorite book about drug addiction. His biographical fiction book, I Fatty, about Fatty Arbuckle is awesome too.

The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test by Tom Wolfe
Fantastic if your interested in the Beats and/or 60s culture. Again, his fiction is good too, especially Bonfire of the Vanities.
