25.10 - Belinda's Task - Let's Play The Name Game
A. For the first half of the task, read any book you like of at least 100 pages.
AND
B. For the second half of the task read another book (of at least 100 pages) whose author’s first or last name, is the same as the last name of the author of the book you read for the first half of the task.

Question, if a book has two authors, could it still work? For example, Will Grayson, Will Grayson was written by both John Green and David Levithan. Does Green knock it out of contention if I wished to pair the book with Peter David?

One of the names needs to match a last name. If you read a book by someone named Elizabeth, you need to read another book of an author who's LAST name is also Elizabeth.

LOL, I did the same thing.

You have to match it to the first author's last name only. For example, if you read Elizabeth Strout, the second book would need to be by an author with a first or last name of Strout.

That's right, right? I'm easily confused. :o)

Haha, sorry. I initially wrote that your George Eliot/George Orwell example wouldn't work, but then I saw that you had written "or", not "and".

I've decided on my books for this task I'm going to read the The Last Dickens by Matthew Pearl and Baby Brother's Blues by Pearl Cleage. I had been looking for somewhere to put these two.

I have a question, someone suggested Chiristopher Paolini and John Christopher as a author combo. I thought the author's last name of the first book had to be either the first or the last name of the author in the second book. So I don't know if Christopher Paolini and John Christopher would work.

You're correct. The first or last name of one author has to match the last name of the other author. Since Christopher Paolini's first name is "Christopher" & his last name is "Paolini," that would mean in order for him to match with another author, the other author's last name would either have to be Christopher or Paolini. John Christopher's last name is also Christopher, so they're a match.

Yeah, just switch it around and make John Christopher the first book and it works. :o)

I thought about Maggie O`Farrell and John O`Farrell but already I used John O`Farrell in task 25.5 (May contain nuts). Is there possibility to use the same author (in all challenge) but different book?

Yes. Many people manage to fit 4-5 series books, all by the same author, into a challenge.
