Angel Experiment Buddy Read
I sure am! I have my book right here *pats it lovingly*
**Jumping up and down bc I can't wait to read it**
Small buddy reads are fun... Me and Z just finished a buddy read for Marked. It was great to have such good discussion. And it is encouraging.
If you read this book and come up with any questions please post them. Me and Z will do this as well.
Looking forward to this, let us know if you are IN!

The Buddy read starts tomorrow, doesn't it?

Ginny: You can read with atbynr, but try to discuss here if you can. No pressure :)

~First assignment~
Read Prologue-Chapter 25, pages 1-80.
Discuss tomorrow.
If you can come up with questions, that would be really great!
Happy Reading! :)

1. From what you've read in teh first assignment, what are you looking forward to in the book?
2. Any favorite characters so far? Who and why?
For the people rereading The Angel Experiment, did you have a favorite character from the other time/s you read the book? Do you think it could change?

1. Um, well I guess since I'm rereading it, I can't really say exactly what I'm looking forward in the book without giving something away. . . . In general, I'm just looking forward to enjoying the book again :)
2. When I read it the first time, I fell in love with Fang's character. He's always so quiet, but he really cares about the rest of the flock. And for some reasong, he seriously gets hurt a lot in this book. I don't know why but he does. And everytime he just literally rolls with the punches, and fights his way back to his feet. He's a really interesting guy.
-My other favorite character would be Max, I guess. She's different than just regular 14-year old girls (if you don't consider the fact that she's part avian). She has to take care of herself and five other people, and we get to experience the hardships of her responsibility. :)
I'll be jumping in and answering questions tonight.
1. I'm looking forward to some bomb action. I hope that it works and doesn't harm either of them.
2. A Fav... not really. But I would like to see Fang develop more. And I'm sure he does since now there is a book out titled FANG. I know I'm behind in reading this series.
((This book is so easy to read!))

1. Max: I find it great that Max wants to help people in trouble. To me, that's a good quality to have. Ella and her mom were really nice to her, and I love how they made her feel welcome, like she was naturally part of the family.
2. Fang and Nudge: After Max went down to help Ella, Fang and Nudge flew on to Lake Mead and waited wand waited. . . . But on the way there, Nudge sees a sign that says "Tuscon," supposedly the place where her parents live. Do you think that, when they got to her parents' house, they should have maybe knocked on the door, or stayed behind the spray paint cans, as was the actual plot?
3. Iggy and the Gasman: First they plan and successfully execute an oil-slick-Hummer-wreck. Then they bombed the flock's secret cabin (but that's a plus because they killed Erasers). Iggy and Gazzy were definitely on a roll in showing the Erasers what happens when you mess with their dear loved ones.
4. Angel: She's trapped in the School, having to bravely endure hunger and terrible pain, trying to survive while waiting on Max and the others to save her. Angel was doing bad enough, and then, here comes Jeb, trying to make her feel better. Could this be possible sabotage into getting her hurt even more by the whitecoat jerks at the School? Seeing Jeb again, the one person they all trusted so much before he disappeared, definitel knocked the breath of out Angel.
5. Throughout the second assignment, what was your favorite quote and/or scene? :)

1. I loved those scenes in the book; Max had been wondering about her parents probably as long as she could form words in her head to know what parents were. She really found one in Dr. Martinez, and she cared for Ella very much as well.
2. I'm really not sure what they should've done. I think that with the actual plot, it was easier for Ari to hurt them, hence my mention of talking to the people that lived there. What I really want to know is: Why the heck didn't that woman do something? Did she not see them or what??
My favorite part in this perspective was when they were fighting the Erasers. "Pinwheel." "Cholla first." "Count of three." "Which meant count of one."
3. I love the characters of Iggy and Gazzy. They're just too ah-dorable to me. They definitely fought back!
I think my favorite out of these 2 was the bombing; Gazzy thought he was going crazy when he heard Iggy telling him what to do. :D
4. Angel is the strongest kid I know. Seriously. She's just so strong and tough, staying somewhat patient while waiting for the flock to rescue her. She's just so cute and she has high spirits, even in the worst situation; Angel is definitely not afraid to fight back.
5. My favorite quote/scene? Don't have one realy; love the whole part. 8)

Read Chapters 49-66, pages 157-212.
Discuss as soon as possible. Let people get a little caught up first :)
HR!!!
Second assignment Questions
1. Max - I think Angel should of been more important. Since she did help Ella, I think while she was kicking butt and had the gun in her hand she should of been smart enough to take it away. She could of used it on their rescue mission or tossed it somewhere. She messed up. I'd like to see how Ella and her mom evolve more into the story.
2. Fang and Nudge - (It was a different city that started with a T.) Again, I thought that Angel should of been more important. Nudge was being very selfish and with what happened, I was right when I was yelling at her in my head like FANG.
3. Iggy and Gasman - Yes! Some bomb action! How did those Erasers not die in the SUV flip. At least two are gone. What will they do next?
4. Angel - I think there is something def wrong for her Jeb to be there. Something happened and he left on purpose or they got to him somehow. Something is also off because she can't hear his thoughts.
5. Quote - Page 103. Her wings unfolded and caught the wind like sails, and suddenly she was a small brown boat soaring across an endless blue sea.

Almost done with the third assignment :)

1. Max's supposed destiny is to save the world. How do you feel about this. Do you believe Max can save us all? (Have an imagination)
2. The flock is together again!!!!! As was my reaction the first time I read TAE, I was ecstatic when everyone was leaving the School--this time for good, hopefully. All I will say right now is that the book gets even better. :)
3. Once again, Iggy and Gazzy fight back with everything they've got. This time, they had a little help: their hawk buddies from Lake Mead. Was this a major miracle or what?

1. I think Max can do it. I haven't read the entire series, so I don't know how the whole story will go down. I think it will be even better in the later books though.
2. Yes, the book will get even better. I'm glad we decided to have this BR; the book is just too darn good to pass up reading! Plus, it's such a quick read, as Elyssa said, because the chapters are really short.
3. I really liked this scene. Especially when Fang was beating Ari up. It was just too funny. Although, I wish Patterson had switched scenes and informed us on how Iggy and the Gasman were able to get allt he hawks to follow and fight with them. That would have been really cool. :)

~Fifth assignment~
Read Chapters 90-109, pages 281-343.
Discuss soon; happy reading! :D
1. What is she supposed to save them from? I have no idea yet. I'm thinking maybe they want something with her new and improved DNA. But some how I feel like that isn't right either. Anyway, Something is going to happen.
2. Yes, the flock is together again but the book is only half over. This is going to be a short lived togetherness.
3. I think they flocked together because the birds came to know them. Understand them. But it is is different. I can't imagine say Hawks and Buzzards flying together.

1. At first, Max seems to be heading towards death with her terrible headaches. But they then appear to come along with the Voice. It looks (or actually sounds) like an ally, as it's trying to help her. Your thoughts?
2. Fang's and Nudge's parents believe them dead; Iggy's mom died when he was born; Gazzy and Angel's parents gave them away; and Max . . . well, we don't know the status on her parents. Please tell me I'm not the only curious one here.
3. Max's brain and Voice have started messing with electrical currents (if that's what you could call them). She's getting messages on TV screens, computers, taxi signs. A little creepy if you ask me.
4. Angel has even more unique abilities! Besides being able to read a person's thoughts, Angel can apparently persuade people to do whatever she wants by sending thought-commands to them. She's definitely what we might call "superhuman."
**There is also another power Angel has, but it's in the last assignment! :)
5. Now they have been exposed to the public, all because the manager wouldn't give them the food they asked for. Personally, I think that was a bunch of pish posh that could've been avoided.
6. Favorite quotes/scenes?

1. I think it could maybe be someone from teh School. Like Jeb said, (indirect) "everything's a test." They could be toying with her all the time, just to see her reactions to everything.
And that chip in her arm is a little disturbing; I think that's how they're tracking the flock.
2. Whenever they go to talking about their parents, it makes me feel really good to have mine with me. I feel so sorry for them, knowing that they've never actually had a shot at a normal life. :(
3. This really does creep me out. Especially that MIT kid from the tunnel. He had some serious issues.
I guess the Voice just figures that it should be able to catch Max's attention without always being in her head. Other poss explanation: chip. That chip could be messing with the electrical currents.
4. Angel is becoming my favorite charrie. She's really unique, and the girl is just seriously tough. All these gifts she's been given are necessary, so to speak, for her part in Life's play.
5. Seriously?? A bunch of stupid pish posh. . . .
6. The two of mine that I really enjoy in this book are actually in part 6 I believe, but I will go ahead and post them on here:
-" 'We're in the Institute,' I said.
'Uhm, is that a good thing?' asked Gazzy.
'Holy [insert a swear word of your choice here:],' Fang said, stunned.
'No kidding,' I said."
-" 'This is the coolest thing ever. First we meet our parents. Joyful reunion, hugs, kisses. Then we go destroy the School, the Institute, all those sons of b--I mean, all those jerks who messed us up.' " Iggy

Read Chapter 110-Epilogue, pages 345-422.
Discuss whenever everyone is finished :)
Happy Reading!
ME. Me. Me.
Don't know about that randomness.
But I finished the book!
I'll come back and answer the questions.

I'll come back and answer the questions.
1. I kind of wondered if that voice was Jeb with a voice changer. That is what I was thinking because when he would see her he would tell her that he was a friend. And the voice said the same thing. Although, this could be the authors mistake.
2. I think her dad is really is Jeb. That or she really is a test tube baby. We will have to keep reading the series to find out!
3. I think the chip messing with the computers and TV's is a brilliant touch. I loved this aspect of the book :)
4. I would not object to the power of persuasion. Actually, sign me up to be a mutant if I get that power.
5. I think so. I mean why wouldn't they tally it up and ask for the money up front before they tried kicking the kids out of the resturant. That would of made more sense. Just think of how much business they lost because those kids ordered a lot!!!
