SPOILERS BELOW

"Please help me! I have been trying to get information about this book.for several years now. I'm really hoping that you can help. All I can really remember about it was that it was really thick, and it was about pirates. I remember the name but at the time that i read it I didn't pay much attention to the author. in the end she is loosing the baby or she did loose it and he just wants her they can always have other children. I know that I am not giving you much to work with but this is all I can remember and would love to read it again, this is the book that started the whole adventure of reading for me."

adam & dulcie are the charaters in The Black Swanby Day taylor..she a southern belle daughter of a slave breeder. Adam was captain of the black swan..he smuggled slaves out on his ship..of course they clash threw out the book holding to their beliefs...I have both the black swan & mossrose & I dont remember her losing a baby...havent read these two for awhile..but it dosent ring a bell with this book...

Tammy Walton Grant (tamgrant) | 214 comments Could it be Bitter Eden by Sharon Salvato? She co-wrote The Black Swan, book is hugely thick, the covers look alot alike and I think the couple in this one might have lost a baby....

Misfit I don't think its the Black Swan. Adam's activities might be piraty in nature but there are no pirates (if that makes sense). There's also some bizarre voodoo like stuff towards the end that she would not have forgotten about. And no, I don't recall that she lost the baby.

Definitely not The Black Swan. She doesn't lose a baby in that one, I'm certain. She doesn't lose one in the sequel Moss-Rose either.

My memory bank is unreliable for most books that I've read in the distant past, so I have no other suggestions for you. But check into Bitter Eden, like Tammy said. I haven't read it, but it is thick and it has nearly the exact pose on the cover as TBS does, so that might be what is making her think it's Swan.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'll let you know what the person says. Day Taylor is the name Sharon Salvato and Cornelia Parkinson used to write the book. I told her it may be 'Bitter Eden' so I'll let you know.
