Check some of the web sites ( and for 2 that I know right off the top of my head.) Balticon is the bigger of the 2, Raven is small (its one of the ones with only a couple hundred people attending.) But there are links that you can click on and ask for help, if you DO decide to organize your own. I've given you sci-fi/fantasy links here, because I'm not sure who puts on the Romance Times/writers ones. But Balticon especially is VERY literary. It gives out the Compton Crook awards for best new writer in the fantasy/sci fi genres. Always LOTS of writers at it.

Then you need a venue for the get-together.
