I recently received enough Chapters gift certificates to buy a Kobo, but I have 2 concerns:

-A lot of the floor models seem to be broken in the stores
-I have tendonitis and am not sure if the button pressing for page scrolling is going to be an irritant

If you have one, what's your experience been? Thanks.

Kelstar | 9 comments I actually have recently done some research on ereaders. I read reviews on the kobo and they weren't so good. I heard that the multiple clicking on the page turning button becomes tiresome very fast because it is a little hard to push down. The kobo is pretty limited too. It has no internet access it is just a bare bones ereader which would be fine if it was considerably cheaper than the other ones, but it's $150.
For the same price you can buy the wifi Nook($149) from which is pretty nice. Also with the nook you can read the epub format which is what libraries use for ebooks so you can read books for free. I check out a lot of library books so that is a must for me. (fyi)The Kindle does not support epub. You can also lend and borrow books from other nook owners which is kinda cool. I really want one.

★M±ð²µ³ó²¹²Ô★ (starinheaven) I haven't read anything about a Kobo, but I have a Nook myself. Of course I bought it before the new one was released and the edition I have is the Wi-Fi and 3G version which is now $199. But Kelstar is right. I love my Nook. I got mine at Best Buy though. The 3G version pretty much allows you to get online at certain locations like Starbucks, McDonalds, and select airports and hotels. With the Nook you can shop for your books online or on the Nook itself. There is not every book available on the Nook but you can buy books through other sites and save them on your Nook that is not under the B&N library as well as save documents and read them on your Nook.

Sorry I know I sound kind of like a Nook promoter but I really do love mine.

Kelstar | 9 comments Haha Meghan I felt like I sounded like a nook promoter too. I think I'm going to ask for one for my birthday since it's this month. One question, the 3G doesn't allow you internet access anywhere you can get AT&T cell phone reception? I'm trying to decide if I need the 3G version. If it only allows you to get online at starbucks and mcdonalds the wifi already does that. hmm

★M±ð²µ³ó²¹²Ô★ (starinheaven) From my understanding no it doesn't have access to internet anywhere. When I looked at the update and it showed the 3G locations that is what I understood from it.

Kelstar | 9 comments I guess maybe I'll stick to the wifi one then. Thanks for the info :)

Thanks folks. Since I live in Canada, I'm going to have to do some research as to whether the Nook's benefits will work for me here. I'll be in the US on vacation soon if I decide to pick one up. Cheers.
