Keri Neal (kerineal) Greetings from sunny and sticky Cedar Park, TX! I've been an avid book reader of Mysteries and Thrillers for as long as I can remember. Some of my favorite authors are Karin Slaughter, Lisa Gardner, Cody McFadyen, Chelsea Cain, Gillian Flynn, Sandra Brown... I could go on forever :)

My favorite books are the ones that shock, terrify, sicken and amuse and still tell an amazing story. I love losing myself in a captivating story.

Ooh, no I haven't! The library didn't have it but I'll look around. Thanks!

Ick, tornadoes? Those scare the bejeebers out of me. Being originally from Southern CA, earthquakes don't bother me. But tornadoes? EEK! Knock on wood one hasn't come near me since we moved here.

It's pretty hot here in eastern Massachusetts, although no tordadoes (yet). God Is a Bullet by Boston Teran (or is it Teran Boston?) will absolutely shock terrify and sicken you. I'm not sure about the amuse. I couldn't finish it. You tough gals might like it.

I'll join the hot and sticky club in saying hello, Keri.

Shocking, terrifying and sickening reads aren't my thing, so I'll have to leave the recommending to the others, and I'm sure you'll find plenty to read here that is good for you!

Thanks for joining the group.

Hello from the Boston area, glad you have joined us.

I haven't worked up the nerve to read this yet, but I've heard it fits the bill: {{shock, terrify, sicken and amuse and still tell an amazing story. }}

Sleepyhead by Mark Billingham

Mona Garg (k1721m) | 70 comments Welcome Keri :) Hello from the oven of Tampa, FL. We have somewhat the same taste in books. I was introduced to Cory McFayden in one of these forums or maybe my other book site. I just picked up a couple of his books from the library on Saturday. I have a couple of Slaughter's(what a an appropriate name for the genre) on my list as well as Gardner's and Brown's. I'll have to check out Cain & Flynn. Have you read any Jeff Strand? I just found out about a book, PRESSURE, that may be to your liking. I reserved it at my library.

BTW, Susan, I still consider myself more a Wisconsinite than a Floridian. We(hubby,munchkin, and I)moved to Tampa only early last year but I grew up in the Milwaukee suburbs and my parents still live there. I've been to Burlington.

Carol/Bonadie: I'm adding

Sleepyhead to my list. And my library has it too :)

Keri Neal (kerineal) These are all great suggestions, thanks!
