Someone recently commented on Sounis that MWT liked Elizabeth Wein's books. Has anyone read them?

I was just about to post something about Elizabeth Wein's books! I have read and loved them. I know I first found out about these books from Sounis as well. I read the books out of order though. This is the proper sequence:




I started with The Sunbird because The Winter Prince is out of Print and A Coalition of Lions isn't available here. The latter three books are the ones about Telemakos and he really is a Gen-like character.

I was wondering why my library only had one copy... Ah. Thanks! And a Gen-like character? Sounds intriguing.

Yes! Telemakos is part royalty, sneaky and likes to spy around. Sounds familiar?

Now I really can't wait to read them. !!!

I've read THE LOST CONSPIRACY. It was a masterpiece.

Holly, really? I bought a copy of that when I found out that MWT recommends it. I saw in one of her interviews (I can't find the link!) that she said she wishes that she wrote that book. Must bump it up my TBR!

Sorry. Just saw my glaring typo. *fixed* Now that I think about it I know why MWT would like it. The plot is so brilliant, and the writing is very lyrical. It was a very different read for me than my usual but I quite enjoyed it. Hope you get to it soon because I don't know many bloggers who read it and would love to see what you think of it.

LOL, didn't even notice the typo. Oooh makes me want to read it more! I wanted to read it already but since it's a big book, I couldn't lug it around with me. I think I would have to read it on a weekend so I don't need to carry it around.

I have an idea, or suggestion, that might help this group to be a little more user-friendly (that's not *quite* the term I want, but I can't think of a better...), and that is that the group bookshelf have some different categories added. So, instead of only having things MWT has written, as is currently the case, books mentioned on this thread (and other threads) could be included as well. Possible categories could be along the lines of: "Written by MWT," "MWT Recommends," and "Sounisians Recommend" (or should that be "While She Knits"?). Perhaps some genre categories, too?

It seems like it would be a quick and easy way to keep track of, browse, or look up various books mentioned in the Sounis community, while a thread like this one could still be used to post the links to the original recommendations or to discuss or comment on the books.

Thoughts?
