A writer a need of a book review? Add your request here, or post a new topic within the folder..

Joshua (JoshuaCaleb) | 12 comments I've posted it elsewhere, but I'll post it again:) I offer free ebooks to anyone who would like to read my book, Warped & Wired: The Wryter Chronicles: book 1 and review it (preferably on a retail site such as amazon, BN etc but anywhere is fine)
I think we definitely need a service kind of like this for authors and readers to exchange books and reviews (I haven't really found any yet)

I have quite a few review requests to finish at the moment, so I can't review your book right now, but I might be able to review it in a month or so.

Do you have an excerpt you can post to the Reading Nook here in the group? It might help to generate interest or reviews.

The Reading Nook is a group folder, with two topics. It should be showing after the Readers folder. As soon as I get my review backlog cleared, I'll be considering new books for review and I'll keep you in mind.

Marc Johnson (marcjohnsonbooks) | 4 comments If anyone would like to trade reviews, please feel free to let me know. I would like to keep these reviews respectful but honest. I would much rather have an honest criticism of my work than simple glorification. My novel, Becoming, is dark fantasy/horror. Generally, I enjoy works of a dark nature.

J. Bralick (jleighbralick) | 10 comments I'm interested in having my book reviewed -- or I would love to do a review exchange!

My novel, Down a Lost Road, is a YA fantasy that melds a portal story with the myth of Atlantis.

If anyone is interested, send me a message and I can either gift you a Kindle version (if you send your email address) or send you a 100% off coupon code for Smashwords.

I totally agree with Marc. Good, honest reviews are much preferable to thoughtless glorification, which I think most readers tend to ignore anyway.

Thanks!

Baxter Clare Trautman Randy, I downloaded a sample and am going to give it a review. I'd love to review everyone's work but fantasy/horror/paranormal isn't my favored genre so doubt I could give an unbiased review. (Seems like there are enough f/h/p writers out there that you could handily review each other's works.)

message 21: by Baxter Clare (new)

Baxter Clare Trautman Hi Randy - First, is this a YA story? It reads like one, and if it is, with a little editing it could be very strong. Your greatest strength is in the fishing passages and descriptions of the river. Like them a lot. Let me know if this is YA as that will change the rest of my comments. (If it is, might want to have the cover be a young girl fishing with an older woman...just a thought.)

I fist want to say how great it is to have people who are willing to do reviews. I have a short fantasy story called The Seamstresses The Seamstresses by Elle Lapraim
“The Seamstresses is a short story about what truly holds a relationship together and what tears it apart, and the magic that is caught somewhere in between.

When Yin opens her eyes after her death, she is in her grandmother’s seamstress shop she remembers as a child—but she is not alone. Her sister who died two years earlier is there to tell Yin about their true calling in this strange and wonderful place. But Yin’s sister is hiding something that will alter Yin’s view

Glen Strathy | 9 comments Dance novel for girls 9-12 needs a review.

May I introduce my juvenile novel, Dancing on the Inside.

"Ever since her grandparents gave her a DVD of Swan Lake, twelve-year old Jenny Spark has wanted to be a dancer. But on her first day of ballet class, she suffers a panic attack and makes a horrifying discovery. She’s terrified of dancing in front of the other kids, and as for actually performing for an audience? Forget it.

"Yet Jenny refuses to give up her dream. With determination and a little ingenuity, she finds ways to observe ballet classes without actually participating. She trains in the safety of her room, while hiding the truth from her parents. Then Jenny meets her exact opposite: Ara Reyes, an outgoing, spontaneous, and accident-prone girl who loves dancing but has always been overlooked.

"The girls friendship blossoms as they help each other uncover their real talents. Ara’s dancing takes a leap forward and Jenny discovers she has an amazing gift for choreography. With the support of the school’s newest teacher, Jenny’s original ballet might just make it on stage but will she?"

I'm looking for anyone interested in reviewing my fantasy book, Ruined City. I can provide a free e-copy in various formats from Smashwords.
The style of the book is a bit different, with the narrative written as twelve interconnecting stories.

Ruined City by A.F. Stewart

Ruined City

In the Northern Pass towers the city of Elowen, the glittering guardian between the Empire of Aloquis and the Kingdoms of Immra. It stands proud and prosperous, never dreaming its dark past was coming to call...

On a bright winter’s day a stranger arrives in Elowen, bearing a secret. From this man a dark blight of ruin descends over the great city and this day becomes known as Winter’s Bane.
The day the world changed for the people of Elowen.
The day their existence turned into a recurring nightmare.

Read of the aftermath of revenge through the eyes of a shopkeeper, a child, ghosts, a blacksmith, a guardsman, an innkeeper, and even a King.

Twelve Stories, One Evil.

Sterling Gate Books (sterlinggatebooks) | 17 comments Hi

My son James Morcan and I have co-authored two new release novels we seek reviews for. Both have already appeared on Amazon’s bestseller lists in their respective ebook kindle categories.

One of these, an international thriller titled The Ninth Orphan, recently held the #1 ranking for one full week. In December, it was at #3 on Amazon’s ‘Movers & Shakers site for the biggest gainers for all books in its Kindle Store in the previous 24hrs.

How do you catch a man who is never the same man twice? That is the question posed in The Ninth Orphan...

An orphan grows up to become an assassin for a highly secretive organization. When he tries to break free and live a normal life, he is hunted by his mentor and father figure, and by a female orphan he spent his childhood with. On the run, the mysterious man's life becomes entwined with his beautiful French-African hostage and a shocking past riddled with the darkest of conspiracies is revealed.

Our second book, a historical adventure-romance titled Fiji, is set in 19th Century Fiji. It is “a spellbinding novel of adventure, cultural misunderstandings, religious conflict and sexual tension set in one of the most exotic and isolated places on earth.

In the mid-1800's, Fiji was a melting pot of cannibals, warring native tribes, sailors, traders, prostitutes, escaped convicts and all manner of foreign undesirables. It's in this hostile environment in our story that an innocent young Englishwoman and a worldly American adventurer find themselves. Despite their differences, there’s an undeniable chemistry between them. When their lives are suddenly endangered by marauding cannibals, they are forced to rely on each other for their very survival.

Let me know if you are interested in reviewing either, or both, of these predominantly 5-star reviewed novels. If you are, and are willing to post your reviews on Amazon, Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ (and anywhere else you see fit), I’ll be happy to email the downloadable ebook version to you.

Best from New Zealand

Lance Morcan

Rasana Atreya (rasana_atreya) Hi,

I'd like to throw my book in the hat, as well. Tell A Thousand Lies was shortlisted for the 2012 Tibor Jones South Asia prize. My reviews have been very strong.

Sample review:
What an unexpected treat this novel turned out to be. From the first page, I was transported to India in the 1980s, a world where skin colour is everything and girls are brought up to be suitable wives. The dry, witty narrative gave me an instant connection with the heroine Pullamma, feisty and a little wild, but ultimately longing to be loved for herself. She will break your heart, have you laughing out loud, and take you on an emotion journey you will never forget. Jessica Chambers, author Dark Is The Sky

If you're willing and able to review, I'd be happy to generate an ebook in the format of your choice.

Best,
Rasana
