hehe... I don't think I'll finish it...more languages kept popping up as I made my list, but it was fun to compile :)
I've added The Wind-up Bird Chronicle for Japanese. A strange book - I haven't figured out what I think about it yet.
I haven't added any more to this challenge (though I am sporadically reading Journey to the West...at nearly 2400 pages it's taking me a while :)
I have decided to take the time limit off this challenge. I've realized it is silly to try and complete it in one year...and if I didn't finish I'd keep at it anyway.

I figure if a goal was met too easily, it wasn't much of a challenge, so in addition to the A-Z title and author and the genre challenge, I'm going to add a "translated from..." challenge. Here are 25 languages (I probably missed a couple of major ones, but this is a start.) I want to read a book that was originally written in each of these languages.
English
French
Spanish
Japanese
Korean
Vietnamese
Chinese
Hindi
Portuguese
Swedish
Arabic
German
Italian
Greek
Dutch
Polish
Hungarian
Czech
Bulgarian
Icelandic
Finnish
Russian
Hebrew
Thai
Norwegian
I'm not going to start this until January 2011, but it was an impulse and if I didn't get a post up I thought I might forget.
