Manek Spook Country by William Gibson?

How about The Intruders by Michael Marshall?

Both got pretty good reviews, but I'm not completely convinced... Anyone have an opinion?

Here's a link to my small, not-very-good review of Spook Country...

I'm a huge fan of Gibson, but this one didn't live up to my high expectations for his writing. It had interesting elements, but it didn't really come together for me. I haven't read the Intruders, but it sounds good. Have you read any other Gibson? I loved Neuromancer.

Manek I loved Neuromancer, and probably would have loved it even more if I'd read it when it came out. Amazing stuff.

He's coming to Seattle soon, by the way. Maybe for Bumbershoot?

I did not know that, but I've always wanted to meet him. I heard he was kind of shy and unassuming. I'm guessing you have read Neal Stephenson as well? The Diamond Age is one of my favorite books of all time.

Someone linked to this explanation from Neal Stephenson's archived website about why he never responds to requests for anything that occupies his time... I thought it was pretty funny.

Did you read Spook Country, Manek? If so, what did you think?

Manek Has anyone else read An Arsonist's Guide to Writers' Homes in New England, by Brock Clarke? I'm in the middle of it, and I'm gripped...

Haven't read that, but what a great title! I'm adding it to the eternally lengthening list.
