Shannon (frecklesquilts) | 104 comments The best place to keep up with me is on my blogs:

I used to use FB a lot, but not so much anymore. I have found that I like to fan or friend authors to keep up with book releases, etc.

I'm on FB, too - Judy Worth Iliff. You just need to put in the message that you're with Quilt, Read, etc. Last week I spent 2 hours unfriending everyone who wasn't an IRL friend, former student, or member of Pete's Pond. I obviously made some exceptions of people with whom I've developed a friendship through FB or Quilters Club o America. :-)

I've done the same as well as "unliked" somethings that overwhelmed me! It's rather like being Samantha of Bewitched with a click of the mouse they are gone!

Sandy H (sandyquiltz) I have a podcast series about quilting named "Quilting...for the Rest of Us," at www.quiltingfortherestofus.com (or on iTunes). I also have a blog at , and have a Facebook page which you can find at, wait for it...

Also, one tip: you can control whose updates you actually see in Facebook through your settings. You don't have to unfriend people, you can just make them invisible to you on your wall. That way if you ever do get curious about them you can still access them through your friend list but not have to dig through all their posts. I've got several people in my friend list who seem to post 20 times a day about very random things that I don't really need to know and their posts kept burying the ones from my family members, so I've made their postings invisible. But I can still check in on them if I get in the mood. You can do the same thing with pages--if you join a group or like a page and their updates come too fast and furious for you, you can simply turn off notifications but still remain connected to the page.

Sandy H (sandyquiltz) Thanks, Kathryn. And thanks for being another friend on GoodReads! I'm picking up so many great recommendations for books that my wish list has gotten huge-a-mongous!
