Up next:

I notice that I am very bad at not planning things, even when my plans keep failing to come to fruition. . .

As little as I can.
No, that's a lie. I just like naps. :D
Yay for any month that includes Willis and Zelazny!

The one advantage to inheriting dogs is that the hard work of training was done by somebody else. . .

I'm reading Traitor's Knot by Janny Wurts, and because those books take a lot of processing power, I also have an ARC of The Best Science Fiction & Fantasy of the Year Volume 5 by Jonathan Strahan going, for when I'm too tired to focus on the other one.
Still working on Bonk The Curious Coupling of Science and Sex, which is fascinating, hilarious, and a wee bit raunchy at times :)
Next up when I finish is Iorich, which I just got my hands on now that it's out in paperback - hooray for new Vlad Taltos books!

Almost done listening to

Planned book club reads for the month are Prospero Lost, DarkShip Thieves and Monsters of Men (the club is actually doing The Knife of Never Letting Go but I've read that and been putting off finishing the trilogy because I'm scared of what might happen, so I've decided to use the club read as my reason to get into gear and read the last book).
Otherwise, we'll see what happens. I'd rather like to get to Twilight's Dawn, River Marked and Child of the Prophecy.

I'm continuing my recent tradition of reading what the group is reading, just doing it several months later. So my March list includes my current book, The Player of Games, to be followed by Fugitive Prince, Under Heaven, and The Gripping Hand (sequel to The Mote in God's Eye.

In print, I just finished Slaughterhouse-Five on my Nook. I've got Off Armageddon Reef and Jane Eyre going on it now.
My DTB is Elvis And The Memphis Mambo Murders, an utterly ridiculous mystery that features a bassett hound that thinks it's the reincarnation of Elvis Presley. I won it through FirstReads. The first book in the series was a free download from B&N. There is no way I would pay $22.00 for a hardback of the one I'm reading now, but its okay for a free book.
I'll be starting The Wise Man's Fear tomorrow, probably(Hi Kevin!)
After that, a mixture of the monthly reads in the various groups I'm in plus the entire Nightside Series by Simon R. Green.

Other than that....6 days until the release of Dragon Age 2. This time I'm going to very much try to not disappear for over 2 months into gaming bliss. :D

This week, I read Dark Moon Defender, kinda "horses & swords" and could be classified YA, enjoyable; Angelicand Salt Water Stains the Sands - both short stories, latter from CE Murphy's web; The complete Fever series (the one that is so PNR(PNR PNR PNR)and I'd thought would be more story/fantasy read.
I started Brust's Iorich the other day. Spending time with Vlad and Loiosh is always a pick-me-up - those books are so much fun :)

Man, them thar Koriani are really bwitchy!

Maggie, what's PNR?
I finished The Player of Games and will start Fugitive Prince this evening.

LOL, yes, they are.
I'm laboring through Gardens of the Moon for another book club. I'm hoping I like the last fourth. I only have 125 pages or so to go.
Finished Magician: Master this afternoon. It was good. One of those epics where you kind of know nothing too awful is going to happen, so it doesn't take a lot of energy to read.
Loved Downbelow Station. Am re-listening to the Master and Commander series and enjoying them. Written by Patrick O'Brian. And here's my current month shelf. I'm ambitious, but doubt if I'll get to all of them. Some of them have been on the list since January.

Flesh and Spirit is fabulous, but you have to read the second, too - Breath and Bone. Carol Berg is awesome.
Just finished Iorich. Gosh, those books are fun :) and Brust tossed in some "deleted scenes" at the end that are HILARIOUS.
Not sure what's up next. It'll depend on my mood when I sit down to read later today.

Good to hear you say that, I've never tried Carol's books. Was going for the 4 for 3 books at (do I need to not mention the other book sale site?) as I knew I'd want paper not ebooks for the award winners. But Flesh and Spirit was my fourth in that order so I won't have Breath and Bone on hand to slide right into (unless I decide ebooks are ok for her).

I loved those deleted scenes. That entire series is one of my favorite fantasy series ever. I'm about to start reading Tiassa - I just reread all of Jo Walton's posts about the series to warm up for it.

I love them too! I just discovered them a few years ago and madly read my way through the entire series so far in the space of a few months. I love the Khaavren Romances, too - so funny!
Jealous that you have Tiassa already. As usual, I'm waiting for paperback... which is why I just got to Iorich now.

I couldn't decide what I was in the mood for next, so I'm going for short stories - the anthology The Secret History of Fantasy edited by Peter S. Beagle. So far all I've had time to read is Beagle's introduction, but I'm going to probably get through a story or two before bed tonight (should be in bed already, but dumb daylight savings time means I'm not sleepy!).

-The White City ; gave it five stars but it isn't quite as good as the last novella in this world.
-Yarn ; gave it three stars because if it hadn't been for some absolutely brilliant world-building elements I would've tossed this across the room for its choice in twists, but it is brilliant world-building.
-And I finished The Broken Kingdoms but don't plan to review it because I'm discussing it with another book group. So basically. . . I liked it, but it didn't make me forget myself the way The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms did, so I spent much of the book nitpicking with it. Made me wish Jemisin had a few more books under her belt before tackling this series. . . but I'm definitely planning on reading the third volume when it comes out, and the first volume in her next series.
-I also read Frederica and The Grand Sophy; I simply have no will to ignore my Georgette Heyer cravings, because the books can be so ridiculously delightful. . .
I'm now in the middle of Fledgling and The Philosophical Breakfast Club: Four Remarkable Friends Who Transformed Science and Changed the World, with Zoo City waiting impatiently on the shelf; after that I don't know what I'll pick up. I need to get to some more mysteries (maybe Barbara Hambly's Benjamin January series) but I'm really feeling the draw of these:

Now reading some Doctor Who
Doctor Who: The Shadows of Avalon
Kinda coincidental as it involves the Brigadier and the actor who play him died recently

I just started Way Station by Clifford D. Simak and will do Yesterday's Children by David Gerrold next. Then on to Janny's Peril's Gate

I'm finding it beautifully easy to read on and I raced through a reread of Connie Willis's Blackout before going on to All Clear (both of which I loved) and I'm now finishing up Patrick Ness's Chaos Walking trilogy by reading Monsters of Men.
After that, it's back to paper books for Prospero Lost to finish up my book club reads for the month.

Last night I finally started reading The Wise Man's Fear. As soon as I finish that long-awaited novel, I'll start Stormed Fortress and round out the month (maybe) with Deadhouse Gates.

This month, I finished

I also read

I'm currently reading

There's even more. (And don't worry, I do read some adult sf. It's just that sometimes I like to read some YA).
