Lisa- if you look at the group bookshelf you'll see that Fingersmith has already been a group read and can't be nominated again. Feel free to nominate something else though.
Eek! This happens more and more often now. We've been doing group reads for so long that we are bound to get noms for things we've read in the past... hahaha

OOps...sorry. I usually check but forgot to this time.

HANG ON, I TAKE THIS BACK, JUST SAW IT'S BEEN READ, BRB WITH A PROPER NOMINATION
Cat 1 Skippy Dies by Paul Murray seeing as I was so hoping it would win last time and would love to read it as part of a group!

It's on the bookshelf but doesnt have a date so I'm assuming hasn't been read. Can I still nominate this book? Been looking forward to it for a while now..

Cat. 1 Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder

Where do you see this book on the groups bookshelves? It should not be there, we never voted it in as a group read....

I just removed it. I hadn't meant to add it originally, but I was in such a rush to get the list up that I forgot! Thanks for pointing it out.

I would appear that the group read polls are being forced again by numerous fake accounts.
I am asking that the person/people behind those accounts kindly remove their votes.
It is not fair to the other members to create blank accounts simply to push a book as a group read.

The Scarlet Letter isn't exactly uplifting either!

Guys, I met Margaret Atwood at BEA yesterday! And I told her that our group voted in Handmaids Tale for June. She is such a wonderful sweet person.

Wow, that's amazing, Lori! Atwood is my absolute favorite author :-)

The categories going forward will remain as follows (based on your feedback):
Cat1- Regular Fiction/Non-Fiction
Cat2- Classics
In order for a novel to count as "Classic" it must be published pre-1980.
Only ONE nomination per person.
If you nominate a book for catagory 1, you CANNOT nominate a book for catagory 2, and visa versa.
Please be sure to post the title, author, and the catagory it belongs to.
Ideally, you can type it as follows -
Cat 1. Room - Emma Donoghue
If your post does not have those three things, it will not be counted.
Are you ready?
I will accept nominations through Tuesday. If we get tons of nominations, I may pull the plug on it a little early, so get them in as soon as you can!
Once I close nominations I will create the polls and let you know when it is time to vote!
Hit us with your best noms!
