First, start by making sure that you have a readerboard name that's unique to you. there's a thread for that, under "Getting to Know You."
Second, read through the general challenge rules. There's a lot of info there, and many of your questions will be answered.
Third, look at the Summer Task list, and start thinking about books you'd like to read that fit those task descriptions. June 1, start reading!
If you're not sure whether a book you have in mind will work for a task, there's an individual help thread for each task where you can ask. Reading the task threads can also give you ideas for books that would fit the tasks.
Once you've read a book(s) that fit the tasks, post in the Completed Task Thread for summer 2011. PLEASE read the posting guidelines, as a post following the guidelines will help the moderators.

There is one 30.2 - Sheila's/Wendy UK's task

You can organize/sort the threads in the Help Thread folder by clicking on the headings: topics, last activity, etc.
Anne (Booklady) wrote: "Where do we post finished tasks posts? Will there be a New Discussion Thread? Or Do I post finished in my Summer Reading Plan? I was told to change my ticker, to what (replaces 910 [points])?"
Anne, the "reading plan" folder is just for your use. Nothing posted there is reviewed by the moderators. If you look at the folder for the Spring Challenge,(http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/5...) you'll see the completed tasks folder - take a look at the posts there to get an idea of what you'll need to post after the thread opens on June 1.
For the posting requirements, see http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/4...
Also, please keep in mind the "pre-reading" rule - you can't start reading books for the summer challenge until June 1, unless the book is over 499 pages. http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/5...

Joanna wrote: "If I started reading a book a few months ago, then set it aside, is it okay to start it over on June 1 and use it for the challenge?"
If you start over from the beginning, sure. If you pick up where you left off, only if the book is at least 500 pages and you haven't read more than half.

If you start over from the beginning or within the confines described in the rules concerning pre-reading it should be fine for most tasks- if any require "no re-reads" you may want to check with the task creator

I'm looking for the title of a book that I saw on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ between now and Christmas, published this spring. It was a paranormal (or fantasy) romance that was less paranormal and more a Regency romance, all about the main characters getting husbands. It had a Victorian painting type cover (like Pride and Prejudice would have). Reminded me if Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell or The Magicians and Mrs. Quent. Can anyone help me??

Can't help you on the book, Cindy, but I started a new topic in the General Questions thread - seems like a good one for this group!

There's a great group here on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ called "what's the name of that book?" You should make a post there and they might be able to help out.

You can do as many or as few tasks as you like and in any order. Just post the ones that you complete in the completed task thread.

For Task 25.4 I want to read a book with a blue cover. It doesn't state it in the task, but usually the norm is to insert the book cover image when you fill out the completed task thread. my problem is that goodreads doesn't have an image for the cover. Does that mean I cant use the book? Many thanks.

Please provide a link to the edition that you have with the appropriate cover from another source like a book retailer or the publisher if the edition does not appear on goodreads

Paul, I'm a librarian on GoodReads, if you message me a link to the book on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ and a link to the cover I can add it to the book here. :)

I'll need to work out how to scan and up load it I guess. Thank you for the offer though.

I was also wondering how the genres were selected for the group reads. I noticed different ones in different challenges. Does the theme have to do with it?
Instructions on adding a ticker are in a thread in General Help How to Create a Ticker
The Group Reads selection process is explained in Rewards of the Challenge under task 20.10

Thanks Dee,
I found this reference that puts the galley as at least 223 pages

I pretty much read nothing but ebooks and always use whatever the cover is on the sale page I get it from or something of the like.
mstan wrote: "Can I use an e-book for a task requiring a cover (e.g. colour of the cover), if the cover is shown on the e-book sale page?"
sure - typically, the GR page shows the ebook cover and it's fine to use that.
