**THIS THREAD IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION**
I know there are some of us who are new to the world of HTML. For those of you who do not know HTML is HyperText Markup Language. HTML is a standardized system for tagging text files to achieve font, color, graphic, and hyperlink effects on World Wide Web pages. (Totally copied and pasted that definition can't you tell =P) I taught myself how to use it (mostly by googling how to do what I wanted to do and copying and pasting lmao) and there is still a lot I do not know. So I've created this thread to help those of us who need it how to use HTML.
**Note: If you would like to know how to do something but do not see it posted here leave a comment and I will try to find the answer for you.**

Vicki- If you want to start a topic in an alredy existing folder...

1.Click on the folder.
2.Towards the top you will see edit folders/new topic, click new topic
3.This will take you to where you will be able to title the topic, and add a comment/post about what your discussion topic will be about!
4.Hit Post, and it will be saved:D

To add a folder...
1.In the top right area of your screen under Reading Is My Escape (on home page of group) click Discussions.
2.Toward top of you screen you will see... new topic/edit folders/unread...select edit folders.
3.Here you will see all of the group folders, at the top you will see... add folder...click this.
4.type in folder name and save

Hyper Linking

For those of you who have a challenge/reading list you can add a link in your challenge list that brings you right to YOUR orginal list in the challenge! I link all of mine to the challenge, but until now I have always just done the home page of the challenge, now I can go directly to my list! All you have to do is....

•Use the link html just like with any link (link html can be found in (some html is ok) above comment box to right) but instead of coping and pasting the url from the address bar go to your orginal list/message/post and right click on the time and date (upper right hand side of post) and select copy shortcut. Then paste it in your link html and name it what ever you want!

This is what it will look like (only remove the !)

Nanna -DD- Alright, this is not really a HTML question, so feel free to kick me out :P
But you know that favourite shelf a lot of people have on their profile pages. It's the one on top of all the categories of books, in a row by itself. How do I get one :-)

Go to your profile and under that section should be "feature a different shelf" click on that. Choose the shelf you want to show on your profile. just make sure you click the circle under feature, not the actual shelf link. that's it. Most create a separate shelf featuring their favorites just to put on their profile

message 8: by Nanna -DD- (new)

Nanna -DD- Thank you Dawn, but I can't find the "feature a different shelf" section. I'm afraid I need the guide for dummies ;P

okay it took a little research but I think I figured it out. Go to your "My books page". right beside where it says "bookshelves" click on edit. find your shelf and then you can click the feature circle.

Nanna -DD- I think I did it, thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 2 comments Quick question for any mac users. I just got a mac book, when posting pictures from my old windows laptop I always right clicked the image and copied the properties to get my image then plugged it into the html codes. How do i get my url for an image while using a mac?

message 12: by destini (new)

destini How do you add an image using HTML on a Mac? I can't seem to get the URL and when I tried to add an image, I got these little question marks.

message 13: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 2 comments I'm on my phone so might not be able to show you properly if not in the am I can give a better example. I use a MacBook and have to hold the mouse pad and the control/function key at the same time then choose to copy image address. Then use the HTML codes with that info pasted in. Ill get you a better example up in the am when I'm on my laptop.
