Another event of interest is the 2 day intensive writer's workshop hosted by Jody Lynn Nye. There are still spaces in that workshop available. Detailed information can be found on the Dragon Con website, but it will include Guest lecturers Todd McCaffrey, Mike Resnick, Chelsea Quinn Yarbro, and Toni Weisskopf, among others. The students are encouraged to ask questions after the experts� presentations.

The aim of this workshop is to help aspiring writers to learn to practice their craft at a professional level. Students of every level are welcome, from beginners to those writers who are starting to sell their work.

Each participant is asked to submit a manuscript to Jody of 2,000 to 7,000 words of a short story or partial novel. Novels must also include a full synopsis. Manuscripts are due by August 1.
The workshop will take place on Thursday, September 1 and Friday, September 2, 2011 from 9 AM to noon, then from 1 PM to 5 PM. Cost for attending the workshop is $250 per student. The fee, which is separate from Dragon*Con general membership (also required), will cover the class plus a written critique by Jody.

Space is limited to twenty-five participants, first-come, first-served.
