Wow, old list. Just a reminder... we are going to have a featured read where we only pick from authors who are members of the group... or books written by members of the group.
Stand by... more news on that later.
Oh, and.... it's been a while since I've done this... I mean...
Come on Eileen!
You know what I mean
Poor old Johnny Raaay....
Sing along if you know the words...
Too rah, loo rah... aaaayy
We're gonna sing this song for ever
Come on Eileen!
Heh... I knew I forgot to something a while back.
<3 Eileen! ({P-:{D>) (it's the Pirate Mudgeon Emoticon!)
for those who want the lyrics...
bwa...bwa... bwa-da-dever... you'll sing this song for ever... (or something like that.)
There, I feel better now.

I'm happy you feel better....
Now it's stuck in my head and I haven't thought about this song in ages!

Thanks to everyone who participates in the group reads. We'll be getting another year started in January with Beneath the Dark Ice by Greig Beck.
All the group reads from 2012 will go into the archive folder, but they will stay open, so feel free to post in those threads if you read the book after the fact.

What books can be nominated for group reads?
*Books that fit the intentions of the group--in other words, books that have at least some degree of action/adventure content.
*Books can be the subsequent book in a series so long as we have read the first book as a group read, or the book is constructed to be more or less a standalone in content.
*Books can be written by group members so long as they have been voted for by a majority in a group poll. As a general etiquette request, we ask that authors do not nominate their own books. If another group member nominates a book by an author member, that is fine.
*Books that have already been featured as a group read in the past are ineligible for future group reads. The threads for the past group reads will remain open for additional comments.
*The goal is select books that are readily available so that people who want to participate are able to acquire a copy. For that reason, we ask that members do not nominate books that are out of print (ie, no new copies are available to buy either in print or as an ebook).
*The books are voted on based on the monthly theme. Members may nominate a book that they believe fits the spirit of the theme in a general or specific way. Moderators will not refuse most nominations unless they are clearly not relevant to the selected theme.
What if I want to read a book and have a discussion for it that hasn't been nominated as a group read?
Well you can nominate it for a buddy read! Just post on the Buddy Read thread and/or start a thread and say when you want to read the book. There's probably someone on the group who'd love to join you.
You can find the buddy read folder here.
Any other comments or suggestions?
As always, no group read is mandatory.
