Mike Davis (mldavis2) | 18 comments I thought it was worth following. Many of ACD's manufactured "deductions" are a bit fanciful if not implausible, and we never hear of Holmes making an error in reading someone's hands and clothing to deduce their occupation. Liu was OK. Holmes seemed a bit hyperactive rather than contemplative most of the time.

The creative canvas of ideas is still largely unused, so the series could evolve into a decent storyline. One must remember this was a 'pilot' episode and much was made of re-introducing Holmes and his 'new' Watson to the audience, much as Laurie King's Mary Russell has to be experienced for a book or two before she becomes a 'regular.' Exact recreations aside, this could be a decent series.

BTW i downloaded and saw it...it wasnt very good neither bad...i will give 3 out of 5 stars....but this being the first episode u cant judge it just now. its too early. Lets c what the next episodes have to offer....and well....we can just hope for the best. and talking about this new actor for sherlock holmes, he will make his way to no.3 of my fav sherlocks. 1st being robert downey JR, 2nd is benedict cumberbatch and this one will be at 3rd position. (i hvnt watched much of jeremy brett)

John (jkbrown2) | 89 comments I enjoyed the show and the touches of humor. I agree that it strays from the canon and didn't like certain aspects of the Holmes character like the tattoos and the prostitute. I just don't think that fits the character of Sherlock Holmess. But overall I liked it and will continue to watch.
