So, anyone want to have a personal Christmas Reading Challenge? List the books you are challenging yourself to read in November and December and maybe January that are Christmas themed books.

Who knows, we might find some books from other list that we want to add to ours later...

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) Ooh, good idea! I have the following Christmas books on my TBR and I hope to read them over November - January. I have exams after Christmas but I also have 2 weeks of holiday the exams so I can always read some of the books belatedly in January.

1. An Amish Christmas: December in Lancaster County by Beth Wiseman, Barbara Cameron and Kathleen Fuller (Borrowed from a friend, sadly not the extended edition! I may get the new version some other time).
2. An Amish Christmas by Patricia Davids (Love Inspired story, looks very cute!)
3. Naomi's Gift: an Amish Christmas Story by Amy Clipston (NetGalley ebook)
4. The Christmas Singing by Cindy Woodsmall (To review for Waterbrook)
5. A Log Cabin Christmas: 9 Nine Romances of American Pioneer Christmases by Various Authors (A NetGalley ebook)
6. The Three Day Rule by Josie Lloyd and Emlyn Rees (This has been on my TBR for years, need to read it!)

I went looking through my Christmas books and I have 19 20 on the list! Wouldn't it be awesome to have nothing else to do but read? I'm going to list them all...

1. A Log Cabin Christmas by Margaret Brownley (NetGalley -- read)
2. Naomi's Gift by Amy Clipston (NetGalley -- read)

3. A Marriage Carol by Chris Fabry (NetGalley)

4. I'll Be Home for Christmas by Julie L. Cannon (read)
5. A Lancaster County Christmas by Suzanne Woods Fisher (read)
6. The Christmas Singing by Cindy Woodsmall (read)

7. Love Finds You under the Mistletoe by Irene Brand
8. The Christmas Lamp by Lori Copeland
9. An Amish Christmas by Patricia Davids (read)
10. A Wee Christmas Homicide by Kaitlyn Dunnett
11. Gideon's Gift by Karen Kingsbury
12. Hannah's Hope by Karen Kingsbury
13. Sarah's Song by Karen Kingsbury
14. A Christmas To Die For by Marta Perry
15. A Prairie Christmas Collection by Tracie Peterson
16. A Home For Christmas by Deborah Grace Staley
17. The Christmas Quilt by Patricia Davids (read)

18. Christmas in Sugarcreek by Shelley Shepard Gray
19. A Plain and Fancy Christmas by Cynthia Keller (currently reading)
20. A Simple Winter: A Seasons of Lancaster Novel by Rosalind Lauer

I liked how Rachel had her notes about the books. I took a closer look at my list, added notes, and I think I'll go with the ones from NetGalley, the loans, and the gift from Cindy -- so that would be #1-6!

message 6: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) Not yet! But I think I'm going to start The Christmas Singing soon. I'm heading home for Reading Week on the 7th so I'll pick up my Christmas books from home then, since I didn't bring them to university with me.

Camille (camlovesraptors) | 802 comments I have a lot of books on my list! From the library I requested:

2. The Christmas Singing by Cindy Woodsmall (audio recording because I do long drives and this will be perfect for my 7 1/2 hour (each way) drive home for Thanksgiving (or Christmas))
3. Christmas in Sugarcreek: A Christmas Seasons of Sugarcreek Novel by Shelley Shepard Gray

I also plan to read:

4. Christmas Mail-Order Brides: Four Mail-Order Brides Travel the Transcontinental Railroad in Search of Love by Susan Page Davis (ordered from Amazon)
5. Dating Mr. December by Phillipa Ashley (own for Kindle)
6. Unwrapping Christmas by Lori Copeland (own for Kindle)
7. All I Want for Christmas is You by Lisa Mondello (own for Kindle, LENDABLE!!!!)
8. A Home For Christmas by Deborah Grace Staley (own for Kindle)
9. Snowflake Bride by Jillian Hart (author is sending me a copy!)

And my wish list is:

10. Christmas in Lucky Harbor: Simply Irresistible/The Sweetest Thing by Jill Shalvis
11. The Christmas Cookie Killer by Livia J. Washburn
12. White Christmas Pie by Wanda E. Brunstetter
13. Two Tickets to the Christmas Ball by Donita K. Paul (requested library buy a copy, may or may not happen)

Of course there are MANY MORE I want to read, but I am on a tight budget so I will probably stick with what I already own, and what I can get from the library. But still, plenty of books to keep me busy!

Well I added A Log Cabin Christmas: 9 Nine Romances of American Pioneer Christmases. i've finished it and really loved the stories. I think I really like the short stories! I read this on from Net Galley, but I saw the book at Wlamart and I really like how the pages look old fashion in how they are cut, it really goes along with the whole rugged Log Cabin Christmas theme!

message 17: by Sue (new)

Sue Laitinen | 3 comments Hi all! Ok, here's my christmas book list.

A Wee Christmas Homicide by Kaitlyn Dunnett
All I want for Christmas is you by Lisa Mondello
One Imperfect Christmas by Myra Johnson
Gotta love the freebies I got for my kindle!
There are still a few more that I'd like to get, but if I don't get busy reading these, I'll never get any of them read this holiday season! It's amazing how I say that yet I always buy more. We have a Half Price Bookstore near us, and it's a great place to pick up christian fiction and christmas fiction books. However I know I'll never get all of them read, so I'm going to be picky and choosy- probably end up reading the Amish fiction based first. They're definitely my favorite!
Blessings everyone,
Sue
