Get ready for a fun and exciting new challenge that involves reading at least 2 classics from each of the specially chosen authors. We already have several authors in mind but if you have someone that you think would be a great choice please nominate them here on this thread. A helpful hint might be to check your "to read" list and see if a certain author's name keeps popping up. Please choose someone that has several books that are considered classics by many people. For example: Charles Dickens or Jane Austen. More details to follow. Nominations will be taken up until Dec. 15th.

☯E³¾¾±±ô²â Ginder Elizabeth Gaskell, Anthony Trollope, Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, Edith Wharton are just a few that come to mind immediately.

The authors challenge has finally been worked out and I'm really excited about this one! There is a list of 8 authors(4 male, 4 female), these will be done in a seasonal format, so 2 authors for a 3 month span. We will have one of the books by each author as a group read during that time period and then anyone participating will need to read one more literary work by that author. The work can be anything, a poem, a play, a short story, not just a novel, although that is fine also. Now for the list:
Winter Authors:Jan-March
L.M. Montgomery (Author)
Jules Verne
Spring Authors:April-June
A.A. Milne
Edith Wharton
Summer Authors:July-September
George Eliot
Emile Zola
Fall Authors:October-December
H.G. Wells
E. Nesbit

We will have a Jules Verne book for March, so that will cover that one!

Tatum | 7 comments That's not actually the good link for L.M. Montgomery even though it is the first that shows up in the author search. The good one is:

Thanks for that Tatum! Some of the links are hard to figure out!

Are we going to read Winnie-the-Pooh? It's one of my favourite childhood books. I'll have to go to the attic and go through the boxes of my old books to find it. I hope it's there somewhere.

AA Milne will be April's children's read and I was thinking that we would have a poll on 3 different choices including Winnie the Pooh.

Sorry Amy for the delay. We planned it for two authors for those three months so Verne and Montgomery for these three months, then Milne and Wharton for the next three.
