Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments Gah, the time delay is crazy! I am guessing it will be two years until the next A&O -- the next Mercy is in 2013, right?

Karin Elisabeth (goodreadscomkarinelisabeth) | 151 comments And here I was thinking I'd be the first to comment on Fair Game (Alpha & Omega #3) by Patricia Briggs .
Well, well - you ladies beat me easily. So, I just want to add - why is the next book on Charles and Anna not out yet? I have finished this one!!

message 253: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments I don't think it is clear she will definitely be writing another alpha book - only maybe. There is a recent interview of Briggs and the link is posted in the blog giveaway and contests folder in this group. She said mercy gets 3 more books including one that is coming out spring 2013. There may be another Alpha book - her publisher wants that. And she plans to write another book in the mercy verse.

And I couldn't even drag it out into a two day read. I finished it in 4 hours. Damn I don't know if I can wait until April.

On to other stuff I guess. Spider’s Revenge (Elemental Assassin, #5) by Jennifer Estep and Covet (The Fallen Angels, #1) by J.R. Ward

Yep. That was a pretty big cliffhanger for Magic on the Line (Allie Beckstrom, #7) by Devon Monk . I can't wait to see what Devon Monk does next. At least now you're all caught up. :)

So it's a good thing that I've been saving them up and still have books 4, 5, 6, and 7 to read before #8??

Jean ~ Kindle Queen (jkat9) | 370 comments So it's a good thing that I've been saving them up and still have books 4, 5, 6, and 7 to read before #8?? ..."

Devon Monk wrote them in groups of three, so you could read 4-6 and be okay, although there is still a story arc for the whole series. The last book,Magic For A Price, will be out this November. You might want to wait until it's closer to November and read them all at once.

message 260: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 1183 comments Yeah I don't know if you could read 6 and then not read 7 immediately. I couldn't. But then my will power is not that strong. lol

Even though I'm totally late to the party, I'm sad that the series is almost over, but I'm also glad that I only have to wait until April and then November instead of years like I have had to wait for the end of other series that I've really enjoyed.

I guess I was forced to stop at #6, because that's how many were out when I started plowing through the series. I went back and checked, and you're right; it would be difficult to stop at that one. Actually, she pretty much makes it impossible to stop reading through the series unless we have to wait for her to write the next one. I'm sad it'll be over too, but maybe she'll come up with another great UF series.

Lis | 4034 comments My reading has been all over the place.. I read Pack Challenge (Magnus Pack, #1) by Shelly Laurenston and Thread of Death (Elemental Assassin #5.5) by Jennifer Estep short story.

Read a couple of the kindle freebies Incubus Hunter (Elf Erotica, #1) by Kenya Wright and Alcandian Quest (Alcandians, #1) by Mary Wine which led to Alcandian Rage (Alcandians, #2) by Mary Wine and now Alcandian Soul (Alcandians, #3) by Mary Wine . Alpha male aliens coming to earth to find a mate to share.

Did my yearly re-listen of Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon and now listening to The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins again so I'm ready for the movie...

That's what happened to me. I read the first three back to back right after book 3 was released. After that I decided to wait until I had at least two to read back to back, and next thing I know she's the whole way up to #8. At this point, I may just wait until the last one this fall so I can read them all at once.

message 264: by Christine (new)

Christine | 850 comments I just finished Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins and Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, #3) by Suzanne Collins . I loved this trilogy and it may be the first time I've really enjoyed a book/series that got so much attention.

But what do I read next?
The Iron Knight (Iron Fey, #4) by Julie Kagawa or Winging It (The Dragon Diaries, #2) by Deborah Cooke or Fair Game (Alpha & Omega #3) by Patricia Briggs or Doubletake (Cal Leandros, #7) by Rob Thurman

Christine- My vote is for Fair Game (Alpha & Omega #3) by Patricia Briggs since we've had to wait for it for so long. I haven't read it yet, but I've heard good things.

message 267: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25889 comments If Fair Game was in my hands I'd be reading it. LOL

Instead, while waiting for my copy to come I'm reading Secrets of the Demon (Kara Gillian, #3) by Diana Rowland and very good it is too :)

message 268: by Gin (new)

Gin | 99 comments I'd go for Fair Game (Alpha & Omega #3) by Patricia Briggs also

message 269: by Christine (new)

Christine | 850 comments Jean, Sandra, and gin,
Thanks for the input. I was leaning that way myself, but they're all library books (except Doubletake which I pre-ordered months ago), so in the end I let the due dates decide and started The Iron Knight. After this, I've got a buddy read of Ceremony in Death and then I'll be reading Fair Game. Finally!

I've got so many other new releases to catch up on, maybe I'll make April my new-release-catch-up month.

I love this series. Another series where I still have to read the latest release. I love Ryan.

Amy, I read the first Dragon Kin book and was not impressed. Or rather, I should say, the heroine was too abrasive for me. Are the other books about the same as the first, or do they get better?

message 273: by Literary Ames (last edited Mar 13, 2012 08:43AM) (new)

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 1854 comments Christine, they get MUCH, MUCH better. I absolutely adored this one and #2 is definitely an improvement on the first. The first books in all of Shelly Laurenston's (G.A. Aiken is a pseudonym) series aren't the best ones, IMO.

Thanks. Quite a few times I've found that the first book in the series isn't the best, so I usually like to give a series at least a two book chance. But I needed some incentive (other than that darn dragon challenge) to get back to this one. The back-log of new releases in series I already love keeps growing every week!

Cris S. (bleunween) | 26 comments well, I was reading the Women of the Otherworld series but I don't know... not very sure if I want to continue it for now so I moved to Pleasure Unbound (Demonica, #1) by Larissa Ione on audio.

I've picked that one up several times and keep putting it down, Sandra. Don't know why, but it isn't holding my interest. I thought it was just me and my mood about Real Life interferring. LOVE the first one in the series and read it twice w/i a week of the first reading.

message 281: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25889 comments Yes, for some reason I'm having the same problem. I've been trying to convince myself to read it since it came out. I used to love fantasy books, but maybe I won't be buying any anymore. Still, I've put it in a lot of challenges this month so I have to finish it. LOL

Kerstin | 862 comments Sandra wrote: "I'm halfway through Bayou Moon (The Edge, #2) by Ilona Andrews and struggling. I'll finish it but I'm not happy.

I remember, it took me a couple of hundred pages to really get into that book as well. The third book in the series Fate's Edge (The Edge, #3) by Ilona Andrews was fantastic though...well, at least in my opinion :)

message 283: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25889 comments Well, I've already got #3, so I'll eventually get to it.

As for Bayou Moon, I'm already at pg 225 and not feeling it.

message 284: by Christine (new)

Christine | 850 comments I finished The Iron Knight (Iron Fey, #4) by Julie Kagawa . While I questioned the need to really add this book to the series, and I would have been content with the way The Iron Queen ended, I enjoyed this book. I guess I really am a sucker for a happy ending after all.

It's okay when you're just sick enough that you have an excuse to stay in bed and read. But is sucks when you're so sick, you can't even focus or stay awake to read.

Hope you're all better soon!

Leah | 880 comments I'm mid way into Raziel (The Fallen, #1) by Kristina Douglas but having trouble staying motivated to read it... I'm tempted to move onto Touch of Power (Healer, #1) by Maria V. Snyder , which I just grabbed from the library..

message 298: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 1183 comments Reading The Darkest Prison (Lords of the Underworld, #3.5) by Gena Showalter and The Darkest Whisper (Lords of the Underworld, #4) by Gena Showalter . I'm enjoying the series enough at this point, although I'm more interested in the actual search for Pandora's box than I am in most of the relationships at this point. And I'm totally dying to read Paris' story, but I refuse to skip ahead.

Also trying to get Shadow Heir (Dark Swan, #4) by Richelle Mead finished finally and the Cat/Bones story in The Bite Before Christmas (Argeneau, #17.5; Night Huntress, #6.5) by Lynsay Sands . I just can't really stay focused enough to read.

As I was drifting off to sleep last night, I realized that this book is making me down-right sad. It's great when a book can elicit strong emotions, but I may have to take a break and read something else today. We'll see how I feel when I sit down to read tonight.
