Kristi (kristicoleman) Ok, since there are a TON of characters in this book to keep straight I am going to post this link to the Wiki page that has all the characters listed as well as a description of them.

NOTE!!! The descriptions may give away spoilers about the book....just sayin'...I wouldn't want to ruin the experience for you.

Martha (marthas48) My book has an appendix of all the characters by House. It's staggering!

Kristi (kristicoleman) I know! I was completly at sea when I first started the book, but as I read it became very clear...and I loved it! Can't wait to see how you all like it!

Sera I have an appendix, too, of each House, and I thought that Tolstoy was complicated!

I was so confused when I started last night. I'm reading on my kindle so can't really look up the characters. Think I will have to see if I can find a non-spoiler page. Too scared to look at the wiki one!

EDIT: Found this which at a glance has less spoilers than the wiki list. I'm thoroughly confused already :)

Martha (marthas48) Dickens is bad, too, for numerous characters, but I think GRRM has him beat. :-)

Ellen Librarian (ellenlibrarian) | 172 comments I thought Vanity Fair was bad but this is un-friggin-believable.

Still, it's a great book so all is (almost) forgiven.

I was reading the prologue the other night and was scared to go into the dark living room!

Kristi (kristicoleman) The funny thing is, that even with so many characters they are amazingly easy to keep straight. The story really make each character a definite person, who you won't get confused with anyone else.

Martha (marthas48) I agree ... I think it might be the minor characters that we'll have trouble keeping straight. So far the main ones are clearly defined. Of course, I'm not that far in yet.

Alana (alanasbooks) | 456 comments The problem is, many of the "minor" characters now become major characters later (and vice versa). That's what I'm finding most difficult about the series, there are WAY too many characters and similar or same names!
