Sadaf (saddaf) I've been slacking a lot with my reading and I want to catch up this year. The 50 book challenge is a little much for me. With two small kids, a house to look after and a potential job (intended soon), I usually do not always have a lot of time, but this year, I will read at least 2 books a month. So I am setting my challenge at 24 -25 books this year.

Sadaf (saddaf) 1. Hiedi, Johanna Spyri. (Read, January 2012)
I'd only read an abridged version as a child, so read the full version this year. I was thinking of reading it to my kids, but I can't read the whole of it in one go to them and they can't wait for what happens next till tomorrow :) So I think I'll wait till they are a little older and can wait for the next part of a story, till the next day.

Sadaf (saddaf) 2. Beloved, Toni Morrison
I have mixed feelings about this book. It's very poignant and makes you sympathize with a woman who kills her own daughter out of love that is 'too thick'. Very bleak and sad but beautifully written. Very symbolic.
