I honestly think OSC just gave up and said "oh fuck this, do what you want" and is at home waiting for the cheque.
I hope that last minute he goes "NO, STOP, I CAN'T LET YOU RUIN MY BABY!"
Did you see who they cast as Peter? That might actually be the only casting I approve of. His face just screams "I'm Peter, the older and messed up brother. I torture Ender but I love him."
Why is Dink Meeker...dark? I mean, whatever, I don't think we were told what he looked like but I assumed because he was from the Netherlands that he would be...Caucasian in appearance.

It might be the pics from his IMDb page, but damn, that kid who plays Peter looks like he time-traveled from the 80s. What is up with those headshots?! THAT HAIR?!
But yes, he really does have the aura of Peter. Haha.
Bean looks cute from those IMDb profile pics...

Filming started on February 26. There are a lot of tweets about how awesome zero g is. ! Are they really filming in zero g or is there some cool rig they are using?
I've come to accept that the movie is not going to be the book but I can appreciate it as its own piece of work that has OSC's blessing. That's good enough for me.
I've done my best to track down all the twitter accounts so that I can be the ultimate creeper. Here they are if you are interested:
Asa Butterfield (Ender Wiggin) - @asabfb
Abigail Breslin (Valentine Wiggin) - @yoabbaabba
Jimmy Pinchak (Peter Wiggin) - @JimmyJaxPinchak
Aramis Knight (Bean) - @AramisKnight88
Hailee Steinfeld (Petra Arkanian) - @HaileeSteinfeld
Khylin Rhambo (Dink Meeker) - @Khy_Rhambo
Moises Arias (Bonzo Madrid) - @ImNotMoises
Suraj Partha (Alai) - @surajpartha
Brendan Meyer (Bernard) - @BrendanKJMeyer
Brandon Soo Hoo (Fly Molo) - @bsoohoo
I'm upset that Crazy Tom, Hot Soup, and Suriyawong have been cut (as far as I can tell) from the movie. Crazy Tom was one of my favourite TLs and the other two are essential characters if they are going to pursue sequels.
Speaking of sequels, there are rumours that the cast are actually tied in for two movies. From what I understand, Ender's Game is going to include elements of Ender's Shadow but if it doesn't, could we be seeing Ender's Shadow sometime in the near future? If ES is included, then which path does the series go? If this cast is tied in for two movies, there are only two options: Shadow of the Hegemon or Ender in Exile. Asa Butterfield has proven he can carry an entire movie with Hugo and, of course, landing the role of Ender, but if they choose Shadow of the Hegemon, can Aramis Knight (whoever the hell this kid is) be able to be the leading actor?
They can always do Speaker for the Dead with a whole new cast. However, like my issues with the book, it's so disconnected from EG that it would probably put a lot of people off. The Shadow series would be the appropriate way to go for a more fluid storyline rather than jumping 3000 years into the future (with a 35 year old Ender, that's gonna screw people up).
In other EG news, Shadows in Flight was released in January. The next and final book to connect Enderverse and the Shadow series is titled: Shadows Alive. But before we get the final chapter of the saga, we get a pre-quel about the first Formic War which should come out in the summer. It's amazing how well OSC has been able to split one book into two companion series and still have them relevant to each other.
/obsessive rant about EG.
God, I love this series.

God, I love this series.

Every time Graff speaks I imagine it in Harrison Ford's voice. It's kind of weird picturing Ben Kingsley as Mazer though.
As more news comes in of what the movie is shaping up to be, the more I get disappointed. The latest scoop: No Locke and Demosthenes as well as no Mind Game.
(source: )
Is it safe to assume that there will be no sequels? Locke and Demosthenes are key figures if they are to pursue anything in the Shadow Series and by getting rid of the Mind Game, (view spoiler) .
I had speculations that Locke and Demosthenes would not appear in the film after Jimmy (Peter Wiggin) tweeted that he had wrapped up on set in just one week of filming.
May is going to cry in a corner now.
Also, I saw people on twitter asking if Ender's Game was the sequel to The Hunger Games and I almost went ape shit. Please, people, go read books.

My favourite book of all time is being turned into a movie. I've been waiting a very long time for this but there is a problem...
When we meet Ender Wiggin he is 6. Asa Butterfield, the actor set to play the lead role, will be 15 during filming.
Fail, movie, you fail.
In some cases, increasing the age does not affect the essence of the book. Take for example Game of Thrones and HBO's hit tv adaptation. A 3 year age increase doesn't hurt the story (and if you're like me and pictured everyone hot, you don't mind that Jon Snow is 17-18 instead of 14). But the whole point of Ender's Game is that...He's a 6 year old boy! And he's a genius! And he's training to defeat an alien race! AND AND HE'S ONLY 6!!! A small age increase I might have been able to tolerate a little more but going from 6 to 15 is HUGE. Not that we're sure Ender will be portrayed as 15 - they might try to go a little younger but the older he gets, the less the audience will feel for him (and at the climax of the story, you might not feel like giving him a big hug and kiss - poor baby :( ).
There are rumours that Ender's Game has been a little bit of a tug of war between Card and the production crew. The main dispute: age. So what gave? Did Card stop fighting and just decided to let them go ahead or was the screenplay able to keep the heart and soul of the book even with an older cast?
Doubtful.
What do you guys think?
