Since Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ has apparently done away with their Bookswap tool, it seems like a good idea to set up our own Swap. If you have a shelf of stuff you'd like to share with members of the group, this is the place to be.

So what do you need to do?

1) Start a thread with a title like "{My Name}'s Swap Shelf" or something similar.

2) Post the titles of the books you want to swap.

3) Anyone interested in one of your titles can post to that thread and, via PM, set up the details. A mutual swap ("I'll send you one of mine if you send me one of yours") helps both parties NEVER reduce their TBR, and that's what we like. :)

As issues arise, we can tweak the guidelines.

Excellent! I have all my swap books at my work place, so tomorrow I'll start a thread with my BRs that need new homes. :)

I was also wondering how the 'loan' worked with Kindle, if we could get some sort of swapping going there too, if at all? I'm relatively new to Kindle!

Yup, exactly. :) My UBS rarely has anything all that old romancey. The HF section has all kinds of two-fisted vintage rugged pulpy stuff, but the BR section is old Johanna Lindsey and Rosemary Rogers and that's it. :-\

That's the same with mine,I have to drive way out of town to find a bookstore that maybe have some. Going to Calgary May 1...they have a HUGE UBS that has ALL the older BR & HTF..bringing a bigger suitcase this time :)

Thinking ahead! I know that when I eventually visit my sister in New Mexico, I'll set money aside to ship a box of books to my home address. :D

I'll have to check. I have at least 4 books to swap, but they're all my mom's and I don't know if she'd mind giving them away. But I'd rather give you girls first choice than give them to a library that might not even take them, they're so old. And I don't know any UBS in my area.

Great idea Karla. I made a short list of books I'm willing to swap, and I'll probably add more as I find them.

Same, I'm adding more as the days go by. Lol I'm attempting to lessen my paperback stash as much as possible. Call it OCD tendencies or whatever, but they look hellish on a hardback bookshelf. ;x

I have a great little UBS, they have alot of old Bodice Rippers, if there is a title your looking for let me know I go there every two weeks or so and would be happy to look for anyone whos having a hard time finding what you want, granted it's a small store but I'ver found lots of books to my liking.

Thanks for the offer, Nona! There's an upcoming bag sale at a UBS and I hope to find some stuff to pass along as well.

wow sounds like fund, our UBS does a sale the first Sat night for three hours where you can buy a box of books and I'm looking forward to going with my list.

It's going to take me some time to build a bodice ripper swap shelf, but once I get to it, I'm thinking I'll join in and do a swap. It sounds like fun. :)
