Lynnie | 16 comments Honestly all I remember is that the main character was a girl who lived in a city (I think.. b/c she was taking public transportation) and she played the cello. There was mention of her going to someone's house for lessons and I think there was something about the person owning a bird? maybe not. Also there was a boy.. I don't remember if there was a bit of love there or not.

There also might have been a "scene" when she is on the bus thinking about how a story has to have a beginning, middle, and end.

It didn't have any illustrations. It was a chapter book... target ages maybe 8-12? oh and I read this book in the early-mid 90s although it could have been written in the 80s I suppose... I don't think it's any older than that.

thanks for any help!

CLM | 311 comments Could it be the Mozart Season? The heroine (Allegra) plays the violin, lives in Portland where she takes lessons and is going to compete in a musical competition.

Lynnie | 16 comments mm.. nope. It was specifically a cello and it was a little more kid-sy I guess. I remember it was specifically cello b/c there's also a scene where the girl is going to music class and seeing the little kids w/ the little cellos and she mentions starting off on violin and then moving to cello as she got older.
