Thanks Christin, never thought to check that. First one of hers that I have read and I liked it enough to try for another!

You can as we haven't yet gotten to it!

20.8 Serially Silently and Very Fast by Catherynne M. Valente

It's one of my favorites by her so if you liked that one I would highly recommend either The Orphan's Tales (In the Night Garden & In the Cities of Coin and Spice), The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making (which would also work for serially as it was released online in chapters), or Deathless - they're all very different but each is beautifully written.

20.2 Scandinavian Noir
The Locked Room by Maj Sjöwall and Per Wahlöö
I did a little happy dance when this task showed up. I’ve been reading through this series and trying to fit one in per season. It’s written by “the founders of Scandinavian crime fiction and they won the Edgar award in 1971 for an earlier book in the series. So, this qualifies under both A and B.

+5 oldies (pub. 1972)

CURSES! I didn't even think to check to see if it was considered YA (in Australia it was sold as adult fiction--and the copy of the book I have happens to have been an Australian copy--but I see now that the American publishers labeled it YA). Boo. I'll also have to shuffle the book that I have posted for 15.5 and change the second name of the chain in 15.4...

Clearly I need more coffee. It took me a good 5 minutes of trying to figure out how this book qualified for Scandinavian Noir before realizing it actually was posted for 20.2B Edgar Award-winning authors.
Please differentiate between 20.2A & 20.2B when posting these for those tasks.

Amours de Voyage plus other poems in Arthur Hugh Clough: Everyman's Poetry Library by Arthur Hugh Clough
I was thrilled to see Amours de Voyage on the list because I had an unread copy of this book and had never heard of him before. Since Amours de Voyage was not quite long enough by itself, I downloaded Arthur Hugh Clough: Everyman's Poetry Library and read the other poems in that as well. Enjoyable and surprisingly modern in attitude.

Hey, America, Your Roots Are Showing (2012) by Megan Smolenyak (72 ratings on 06-16-12)
+ 10 Task Total
Review: Geneaology for the non-geneaologists. Ms. Smolenyak is associated with ancestors.com . In this book, she explains how she does her genealogical searches, illustrated by actual cases (like the genealogical search she did for Barack and Michelle Obama). She’s also associated with the US military, involved in identifying the next-of-kin of fallen American military from all the 20th century wars. Recommended for geneaology newbies.
Task 20.2 B. Edgar Award-winning authors
2007 Edgar Award Nominee: Pickard, Nancy The Virgin of Small Plains
Book read:
The Scent of Rain and Lightning (2010) by Nancy Pickard

Review: The man convicted of murdering Jody’s father is being released from prison and returning to the small town of Rose, Kansas. It has been twenty-six years since the murder. After setting the premise, the first half of the novel is told in a long flashback, introducing the characters and ending with the murder. The second half is set in present-day 2009 Kansas. Jody’s grandparents reminded me of J.R.’s parents in the TV show Dallas. The resolution of the various mysteries of the novel fits the novel very well. Recommended for mystery fans and for those who like contemporary fiction.

10.8 Pick A Pulitzer - The Red Garden by Alice Hoffman
I didn't know what to expect when I started this novel but I was pleasantly surprised by it. It's not so much a novel but a series of vignettes about the settlers of Blackwell, Massachusetts and how legends are born and the truth is set free. Enjoyable.
+10 Task (fits all three criteria, I believe)
