I have been reading romance for a long time, and I didn't even know what all the different themes were until I started hanging out on the All About Romance Special Titles Lists.

That was really bad for my pocketbook, because then I know which books to buy to get my themes I loved. One of my favorites is the hero in pursuit.

What is a hero in pursuit?

According to AAR,

Found here are romances with heroes who pursue the heroine with everything they have. These heroes have more than lust in mind, however. They have noble intentions, or, at least, intentions that turn noble very quickly. They want (and need!) to be with their ladies forever.

Sigh!

Who are your favorite heroes in pursuit?

I think Lisa Kleypas and Christina Dodd write wonderful heroes in pursuit. Jennifer Ashley has some good ones in this line as well. I love when the hero does the chasing, especially when the heroine is not that interested, but he shows her that he's the man for her. Makes me very happy!

message 13: by Shae (new)

Shae (shae33) loved Claiming the Courtesan by Anna Campbell , Reckless (The House of Rohan, #2) by Anne Stuart , and The Secret Swan by Shana Abe .

message 14: by Shae (new)

Shae (shae33) secret swan, though, for part of the book the hero doesn't know that the woman he's with is his wife(they hadn't seen each other in 8 years.) she hates him because of what took place then, and so she doesn't want him to know that she's his wife, cuz he has legal claim over her-and he really wants her. but when he does find out...(fans self) reread that part of the book a lot!

message 15: by Shae (new)

Shae (shae33) also The Truelove Bride by Shana Abe . this definitely has pursuit. loved it, reread it 3x.

I love Jack Travis as well. I can't wait for Joe's book in Sept.

For me it's Jack McCord the hero in Fire and Ice (Guardians, #1) by Victoria Paige .
