Maybe even 15 lbs, just to be safe. :D

I started a horror novel but couldn't get into it, so I've been reading Mass Effect fanfic all afternoon.

message 102: by [deleted user] (new)

Tell him it's Mahnogard. Which is Dragonham spelled backwards. Which I refuse to explain just yet. :D (Heh. It's not even a steamy story. I just like to seem mysterious.) I haven't been gaming much the last few weeks, but I'll probably be buying Far Cry 3 soon, then I'll be all over Steam again.

Figuratively, you could be jumping out of airplanes.

I just watched a food segment on the mid-day local news show. It was for a "fruit gazpacho".

Are you shitting me???

Bitch, that is a smoothie in a bowl.

I was supposed to start the July challenge for another group today, but I'm still reading fanfiction. No biggie, I only have to read 7 books of any length for the challenge.

True Confessions Time

I have a thing for Harry Potter fanfic involving Snape.

I just took over a group. I was looking for a group about American Western history, and I found one. It had no mod. I joined and was able to take it over. This should be interesting. It's here if anyone is interested:

Either everyone clicks through directly to the discussions, or no one wants to come out and tell me that they don't like our new masthead on the group home page.

Mine just always opens up at my home which shows me recent discussions and such. So, I went there. I think the only thing I might change is that random conversation is way underemphasized in comparison to its real weighting. :)

LOL! So true, but we at least try to keep up appearances. I mean, most of our conversations are in the challenge threads!:D

message 113: by [deleted user] (new)

I'll see about making revisions this weekend. I try to only Photoshop on weekends. :D

And I agree with HiMS that that line needs more emphasis. "

Hey Stranger!

*guilty*

hangs head

But it looks nice!

message 116: by [deleted user] (new)

LOL! Thanks! Yeah, I usually just click the recent comments from the group feed on my home page, so I assumed most others did that as well.

alansplace | 13 comments A Question?

Actually I don't know for sure where this post belongs as this software that GoodReads uses is, and always has been, highly confusing to me...duh!

Why are Grave Peril and Cold Days not included in "challenge-the-dresden-files"?
--
Alan :)

message 118: by [deleted user] (new)

Grave Peril was on "read" but got missed on the Dresden shelf. Fixed that. At the time the challenge was created, Cold Days hadn't been released yet, so I just added that as well.

The Steam Summer Sale is causing my game library to grow at an alarming rate. Even snapped up a classic favorite of mine - Civ III, for less than $3.

Meanwhile, I'm playing Skyrim again.

:-D

I've been avoiding Steam since the sale started. LOL!

message 121: by MrsJoseph *grouchy*, Resident Book Pusher (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 3289 comments Ok, is WarHammer an RPG?

And what about Titan Quest? RPG?

message 122: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, you've already got more games than I do on your account, but I'm catching up very quickly. The other day, they had Witcher and Witcher 2 on a flash sale. Got them both for less than $6 total. Deus Ex: Human Revolution was on my wishlist - got that one in a flash sale for $2.99. I bought Railroad Tycoon 2 Platinum for $2.49.

message 123: by [deleted user] (new)

And I've never played WarHammer. I have no idea. I know that it's called an RPG but we know how often the definition is blurred. Never played Titan Quest either.

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 3289 comments Shelly wrote: "My resident expert says that Titan Quest is an RPG."

Yaaaaay!

I might grab that one.

But I hate almost all of them. :(

I only like point and click games - I own a laptop at home so moving with the keyboard is uncomfortable. I've not been able to catch on.

:(

I'd trade/sell/giveaway almost all of them if I could. Especially that TombRaider set I bought. I'll never play them.

message 126: by [deleted user] (new)

I've gotten burned a few times, myself - that's why I try to snap up the ones that interest me on sale.

Have you tried Dragon Age: Origins? It's got the click-to-move interface. I'm not crazy about the game, but you and I seem to have somewhat different tastes so you might like it. A lot of people LOVE that game, and I actually bought it on recommendation from a bunch of people. It sucks that we can't trade games once they've been installed. :(

I've got a couple of Dragon Age. Let me check it again. One I installed was just...not working on my computer. Now i need to try the other two(?).

message 128: by [deleted user] (new)

Origins is the first in the series, so it should be less system-intensive. Don't know, though. Games are weird.

Damn you, Christa!!!!!!!!!!

I just bought Titan Quest: Gold.

*sniff*

message 130: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, in my defense, I didn't say a damn word about Titan Quest: Gold. :D

message 132: by [deleted user] (new)

message 139: by [deleted user] (new)

Well darn. They aren't running a flash sale this time. Next one will be in 8 hours, so I'll have to check tomorrow morning. Boo!

message 140: by [deleted user] (new)

False alarm, the site just didn't update. They are there now, but nothing I want. So still... Boo!

message 142: by [deleted user] (new)

Today I grabbed Sim City 4 and Risen 2.

message 143: by MrsJoseph *grouchy*, Resident Book Pusher (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 3289 comments Grabbed Children of the Nile and the expansion. It was $4.99 for both...or the package which was $9.99 for both.

O_o

I was thinking of getting a copy of T2 (back on sale) to play with hubby but I'm not sure if his computer is new enough. I have about 45 hours, right? COuld you check?

message 144: by [deleted user] (new)

You have 42 hours in T2.

O.M.G.

So I had my eye on both Age of Empires II HD Edition, and Age of Empires III Complete Collection. I had decided that if AoE2HD went on flash sale I'd just get it, but if neither went down any further I'd get AoE3CC at the 50% price of 19.99.

Well, AoE2HD went on flash sale for $9.99. Just on a hunch I hit up my wishlist, and saw that AoECC was down to $13.99. Went to the store page, scrolled down, and there was a bundle of both marked down to $16.99.

Combine those with Civ3 that I got yesterday (or was it the day before?) I now have all the old games that I used to play for hours and that got me into gaming in the first place. As much as I love Skyrim and other more recent games, it's awesome to have some of my old favorites again. :)

I bought Cleopatra on GOG because i used to LOVE that game. So I also bought Children of the Nile cause it was made by the same employees.

message 149: by [deleted user] (new)

I used to have Children of the Nile! Damn, now I want to hunt that down too. That was an awesome game!

message 150: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh shit. The Enhanced Edition of CotN is only $4!!! Woohoo!

Guess that makes us even on the game pushing, eh? :D
